Any interest in allowing a VW Beetle to join?

Given that you will be building the Bug as a Lowrider, I would be very interested to see you participate and I know il enjoy watching what you will create.

There's one thing you guys might not like. My wheels and tires, they are spokes, but not narrow 13's. If you don't think this will be OK, I'll drop out unless I can find another subject. I'm at a point on this where the little narrow spokes won't work.

I'll do periodic updates here and a full WIP  in the "On the Workbench" board. I started with the kraptastic RM VW 60's Beetle.

I introduce "The Virus".

Thanks fella's.

Will post some better up close pics of the pumps soon. They just need a final clean up and assembled permanently, at the moment they are just white glued together for test fit and mock up purposes.

I personally dont have any issues with the wheels you are using, atleast they wires/spokes. Also id be inclined to could say your Bug called possibly fall into the radical Lowrider catergory.

If your interested look up a custom VW lowrider built by Bernnt ( I think? ) the guy from Sweden that used to work at Boyd Coddingtons. He built a show bug called the pink lady, chopped, widened, new front/rear end. It was WiLd, gullwing doors, Dayton's, and fur interior. I want to build a replica of it one day, one of the wildest beetle lowriders ever built !

Bernt 's bug is crazy. I don't like the nose on it though.

A little update. The chassis pan had to be shortened, and the back raised to fit the wheelwells. I also started redoing the rear suspension.

The trunk is almost done.

The Ghia is looking good Paul, looking forward to more on this !

The interior is fuzzy felt, you can pick up packets of felt, fur, glitter card etc at most art / toy shops. I use chrome cardboard too, usually saved from things like easter egg boxes ! There's a WIP for this 64 with more pix, its in the workbench section !

Some impressive cut and shut going on with your build David.

Interior is starting to look the part Martin, excellent work.

Of to a good start Paul, look forward to another update.

I've finished the Karmann Ghia, had a few issues with the interior, but happy with the result.  I have also painted a '64 Chevy that I might add to this CB and turn it into a more flamboyant ride, if I can pluck up the courage to do a wilder interior.

Ghia turned out great Paul, well done and good to see someone finish a build already. Would like to see some more pics though.

Hope it motivates and inspires others.
