Lizard Racing Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Carl Casper's dragster represents the epitome of the front-engine dragster. It ran in the mid-six second e.t. and in the 220 mph range. It's staggering to realize top fuelers now run two seconds and 100 mph faster. This is the MPC kit done out of the box with added engine detailing. A simple build, but a bit tedious due to the small parts.
High octane Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Very nice build on that dragster George, and I can relate to the name as I used to be a Young American once but then time caught up with me.
maltsr Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Agreed, nice build of a sometimes tricky kit.
Johnt671 Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 I can remember the experts saying a drag race car would never top 200 mph. they were sure wrong, but I guess they couldn't foresee the advances that came along.
10thumbs Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 Great looking model George! You did well and I like it.I'm building on a FED myself, man those are some long models!Good work George.
Lizard Racing Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 I also remember "experts" saying that the human body could not withstand speeds of 100 mph.Never bet against technology.
DrKerry Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Nice build, I have this kit at home to build someday. I heard a lot of the kits had frame twist in them. I haven't looked at mine yet but hopefully if it is a little heat will straighten it out!!! Like what you did with yours tough..
