pcm1977
I have looked and cannot find if anyone has custom built Nitrous Oxide (N2O) bottles. Has anyone ever tried to scratch build bottles? If so could you please point me in the right direction. Thank you

comp1839
i researched the bottles, valves, gauges and handles at all of the nitrous / and bottles manufacturing companies web sites. found what it was i wanted to build. drew up my prints and machined all of the parts. these are 100% scratch built.......... even the bottle decals ( also for the gauges). For the tach and the other small gauges? Edited December 4, 2016 by crowe-t
comp1839
sorry, no decals in 1/25th. you can go to any gauge site. download an image of the gauge you want. crop it. print it on decal paper. spray it with the coating in the decal maker kit. boom! instant decal. really easy. Scott Colmer
Many years ago I made the bottle on this car out of a pillow from a van kit. I had no styrene at the time. Still, it is just a matter of gluing enough chunks of styrene together, then filing to shape. The label (not visible) was cut out of a magazine. The knob is just filed plastic. Hosted on Fotki For the engine, I went with a hard line system. The lines are the wire from twisty ties that have been polished with fine cloth then polishing compound. NYLIBUD
Try Slixx decals. They have a few different choices of NOS decals.Slixx always has the best quality decal sheets.I use them all the time.
Buffs Fan
I make mine out of a plastic clothes hanger cut it to length then round the top of the bottle with my razor and finish the shape with sand paper for the nozzle I used styrene rod and shaped it once again with the razor knife
pcm1977
Thanks Buff, that is the best idea I have heard so far...now off or the hall closet for a coat hanger.
511 nova
I've used the clothes hangershopping with the indentation on the top( for a shirt with straps I presume ). Ithe will already have a rounded end and just cut it to length. Next I drill the end and glue a nail head in (a nail looks like the valve. Paint, use those slixx decals and finished
