I wasn't going to start another build but the wife got me to do the FM3 Panther Pink Challenger for my Daughter . So after getting the closest pink nail varnish (N0 7) we could find here is the body painted

Let me know what you think ? Personally I think its just the coolest. I will try to get a pic of it in the natural daylight

Thanks Dave, that's a brand we don't have here in the US....but I'm sure I can locate one just as bright if I search long enough around here!

With 3 girls in the same house I have loads of different colours of nail polish around :D. The body is ready for wet flatting now. Then it will get a few coats of wet look clear . Here is a better pic in daylight

That Pink is sure bright !! I like the overspray on the under carriage and the wood trim on the interior is very convincing.

Looks good.  The only thing I'd mention is that the subframe rails are part of the body structure and ought to be body colour.  I see a lot of people painting them black as if they were a GM F body or similar.  The K-member was a separate piece and that should be black.

Was working on the annual Pinewood car with my 9 y/o son.  Asked what color he wanted to paint it.  Panther Pink was what he told me.   Awesome!  to me anyway.  I hope his buddies don't berate him too much.  I offered other colors, but he insisted.  So he painted it.

Anyway, NICE Challenger.

Dave thats NICELY done man! NICE & BRIGHT like mentioned! WOW......... good to see a T/A in something other then the dang Green! -Almost seems that the medium to darker greens are trending right now...... -I'd almost rather see a T/A in the Sublime Green that the rest of the shades of green it was offered in!

Thanks John I did think of doing it in sublime green but I have a 71 Cuda done in that green . Plus my Daughter begged me to do it pink. :P Got to keep them girls happy right ?

Anyway I have a long way to go and now I have to go backwards to correct the chassis colour <_<

Sublime would have looked GREAT on that car for a T/A! (I'm thinking my '70 Challenger T/A might wind up Sublime green! I don't know yet!) BUT I have to side with the girls on the Panther Pink...... I did a '57 Chrysler 300C that color with a pearl white roof and nice white interior with panther pink accents..... Years ago, when I was younger building model cars, I never liked that color, the pinks and greens were NEVER a high color on my list of favorite colors.... NOW? Well I do like the Panther Pink, and I still am not "fond" of the darker greens, but Sublime, has grown on me! And I do like the colors of the Sassy Grass green or Green Go color..... Thats about as dark of a green I like tho! Even tho I'm doing one car with a much darker green only because my Dad owned a car just like it.... so.... Won't be often you see me paint any model dark green. Heres a link to my '57 Chrysler 300C:

Favorites? OMG its a tie..... Plum Crazy Purple (I've ALWAYS loved that color) and Hemi Orange, those 2 colors, I used way back when, and a lot today! I have to pull myself AWAY from the Plum Crazy tho, or all my models would wind up that color! LOL

Dave thats too funny! I've loved the plum crazy purple since the day I painted a '33 Plymouth 3 window Coupe that color in real life, and the kicker is, we did Top Banana Yellow scallops on it and since that time I LOVE how those 2 colors go together, so you'll be seeing me build 2 '70 Coronets, one a R/T convertible and one a actual Super Bee, the R/T will have an all purple body, with a Banana Yellow deck stripe with the "R/T" emblem in, the Super bee will also be all purple, but have a Banana Yellow "C" stripe with the "Super bee" emblem in it.... I've semi-started those 2 models about a year ago, working on just the engines to those too is and was a last, Same engine, built 2 different ways, ones is stock (in the Super bee) and the other is all covered in chrome (one in the R/.T) BOTH are Hemi's, the Super Bee has a 426 Hemi and the R/T I'm thinkin' of calling that one a 528 Hemi! (same block, same look, just one covered in chrome the other one is stock from the factory....)

THEN you mention Hemi Orange (THAT was my all time FAVORITE COLOR since I was kid, and back then? I did not know what it was called, I just knew it was "Orange"........ LOL I plan to take a Little Red Express truck and build it up to a monster truck like one I did many years ago and lost in a house fire (I'm gonna build that truck again!) and it was Hemi Orange and black! And right now, I have a '65 Dodge A100 thats All black with a Hemi Orange stripe down the center body line, and I think theres a Hemi Orange A100, that I used here:

One WILD build from me! Hemi Orange over all with the center part in Graphite Gray Metallic.... And lots of Chrome! LOL Even my L-700 truck is gonna have a chrome grille unlike what the kit provides with it (I'm gonna use a A100 chrome grille on it!

Lots of ideas on the Hemi Orange yet to come! I also favor the Burnt Orange Metallic as well! And well as the "Copper" Orange, as well as the other "orange" colors.... I have yet to pick a build to use the  Mopar "Go Mango" orange on tho!

LOL Hell no! I got to the point you see in the last posting and stopped as it was a build that I did that at the time, my air brush wasn't working and I needed to build something that could be done with spray cans and since that last posting on THAT build, I got the air brush up and running again so I sat it aside to concentrate on others to get them where they are today! 2 out of about 6 of them are going to be finished right soon too! The '68 Roadrunner and Rosco's Cop car!

Don't worry tho, I'll be back on that one at some point!

Dave, digging this build! did a 71 cuda in panther pink a while back, no where near as bright though, lol. looking forward to seeing this progress.

Thanks Bill I just have to strip the chassis and repaint it as dodgefever mentioned that the chassis should be body colour not black . Then I can start putting it together

The pink looks very bright in the pictures but in true day light it is very close to the real Panther Pink

Not sure if ya can... Dave with my pics and the "brightness" the camera flash creates, try taking a pic of the body, with your bench lighting, and NO camera flash..... I've found the flash makes the shot WAY to bright in some cases and makes the paint look different, then it truly is! Thats why in my '68 Roadrunner build, you'll see pics with and without the camera flash as that flash seems to create other then it is looking at it in "normal" lighting.....
