ridinframe Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 Started this kit a week ago after a long time off from building. It started life as the revell gmc plow truck but, thats far from what it will end up as. I added the molding/ trim to the sides and tailgate sections, also added a drip rail, body dropped the bed floor so it can lay as low as possible. Should be a fun replica to build just need to find a set of wheels from a 72 Chevy truck kit like the stock hubcaps...
ridinframe Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Working on getting rid of the molded in batteries and lifting the inner wheel wells so I can fit the wheels and tires..
mini trucker Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 If you PM me your address I will send you out a set of the wheelz you need.
gautreau Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Can't wait to see more on this build. I'll definitely be watching for your progress on it,
espo Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 You have done a great job on the trim moldings. They look spot on. Look forward to your build. I have owned two 1:1 C10s a '74 and a '79 and loved them both.
ridinframe Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Thanks for the feedback fellas. I've been making a little progress today and should have pics of that up soon today.
Modlbldr Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Looking great. I like the trim work too. I added trim to my 64 Chevy. The sides look too bare without it.Later-
ridinframe Posted December 22, 2016 Author Posted December 22, 2016 Got the notch and some tubing work done today. Lots more work to do but she's coming along great. 4 link is next and control arms for the front.
Can-Con Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Josh, If you're going for the look of the 1/1 in your pics, I'd suggest getting a set of wheels from a 1/18 scale diecast and using a set of Pegasus tires maybe. The 1/18 wheels would scale out to somewhere around 22 inches in 1/24 scale. The tires from the large Pegasus wheel sets might be a good fit but I'm not sure.

The plan is too put the stock wheel in the center for a 1:1 scale look.
