dub Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) Here's the latest completed build from my bench. I took one of the recently reissued Lindberg 25 Tall T's and did a quick and dirty build-up. I used the Fronty and the front axle from the Vintage Police car reissue from Stevens of recent as well. The wheels are the wires from the Lindberg 34 P/U. Everything else is out of 'da box. I had some real fun building this. The tooling is really showing it's age by how primitive it is. The flash and sink-marks weren't bad, but the mold lines were pretty big. Scale seems to be under, too. Fun kit, but don't expect a lot of detail. Thanks for looking! Edited May 15, 2008 by dub
Guest Gramps-xrds Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 You know Dub, that does look a lot like the AMT one. But then I guess all those Ts do look alike. I didn't know anyone was making Ts anymore. Looks to me like you did a pretty good job if it was as bad as you say.
Don Banes Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Looks pretty daggone good to me! The Lindberg kit is about 1/26 or 1/27 scale, but looks just fine to me the way you built yours! Very nice build!
george 53 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Yeah, Dub,it looks pretty good to me too! Did thae engine come with the kit? looks like an old Frontenac to me,is it?
outlaw035 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 (edited) hey dub nice job...just one thing...tall "T"....should be make into short "T".....can u say CHOP....lol....neal Edited May 15, 2008 by outlaw035
Raul_Perez Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 Nice little hotrod, Jonathan...but I to will probably take a chainsaw to the top if I get one of these kits and cut out about two thirds of it! Keep up the great work!!
dub Posted May 15, 2008 Author Posted May 15, 2008 Yeah, Dub,it looks pretty good to me too! Did thae engine come with the kit? looks like an old Frontenac to me,is it? Thanks guys! George, the engine came out of AMT's Vintage Police car 27 model T phaeton reissue by Stevens International. Same with that drop axle up front. I did have to take about 5/8" from the middle to keep the tires under the fenders, though. That's just one of the areas where the scale deficiency is apparent . As for the chop.... I saw too many chopped ones being built around me so, I wanted to do it as a phonebooth to be different.
Nick F40 Posted May 15, 2008 Posted May 15, 2008 I like it, and it is tall! I like the 4 banger for a change
Andy Wyatt Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Nice build Jonothan! I like the checkerboard roof!
cruz Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Checkered roof is definetly cool, nice job on a simple kid man!!!!
RodBurNeR Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 way to go dub! like everyone else said, the roof is a neat touch!
kasteer Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Cool little rod! very unique and basic. I like how simple you kept it. Sometimes keeping it simple is harder to do than adding too much detail.
stevegt738 Posted May 22, 2008 Posted May 22, 2008 Cool little rod. Good to see a non V8 as well. Well done.
