its that you sometimes forget what about some of the items you have collected.

I recently was able to unpack my complete stash of kits and get my bench fired up again.

While I was looking for a old 40 ford body I remembered I had stashed in a box , I found a galloping Ghost II rails, some report decals for other projects, and the roof someone gave me to try on a custom Nova project I had stopped on many years ago. When i went to check the roof on the Nova (a pretty good start) I also found the beginnings of one my wilder projects.

Every time I go looking for something in the Snakepit, I found other cool old stuff I'd forgotten about (though usually I don't find what I as originally looking for). Happened to me again today.

Among the things I found today was a set of wheels I'd been looking for a month ago. I ended up driving on without them, but I'll use them on something else eventually.

I know of what you speak. A little over twenty years ago I used an AMT '57 Ford hardtop to make a copy of a '57 Ford Convertible that I had in my youth. The next year we moved to the Kansas City area and the packing that goes along with that. Last year I saw a drawing of the new Revell '57 Ford made into a Convertible and that got me to thinking about that roof that I had removed years ago. I then removed the sedan roof and added the hardtop roof from the old AMT kit to make a low line hardtop. You learn to never through anything away, you just never know when you're going to need it.
