Day 2 Muscle Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 I have the El Camino from the Bass Buster kit by Revell, has this car ever been released without the boat and if so under what brand name. The body has engraved on the underside {MMI 1978} 7243-0610 but those numbers get nowhere on a search. Is this 1/25 or 1/24? And what year is it? Thank a ton....
lordairgtar Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) Monogram kit, 1/24th. I believe it was sold separately too. https://tse4.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.vwzdrvsEGYZHh9gQh-KvaAEsDe&pid=15.1&P=0&w=221&h=165https://tse4.mm.bing.net/th?id=OIP.IwxHXMxXodPwCwRoE1pWjAEsDA&pid=15.1&P=0&w=256&h=165 Edited March 9, 2017 by lordairgtar
lordairgtar Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Now Revell had their own 1/25th scale Elky too. Not really sure if the Bass Buster was using that tool. MMI on the chassis usually indicates a Monogram kit
disabled modeler Posted March 9, 2017 Posted March 9, 2017 Sounds like a Monogram kit you have. MPC made some as well in kits and promos.
DrKerry Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 MMI would of been Monogram Models Inc. as it's been said pretty sure the one you have is a Monogram and I believe to that AMT made one as well..
KWT Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 (edited) The Elky in question was originally released as a monogram kit... as far as I know these are is different releases. Edited March 10, 2017 by KWT
espo Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 AMT offered the same basic body style in 1:25th but with the Mont Carlo SS front end. It has been reissued several times and shouldn't be to hard to find. The draw back would be the front end wouldn't match the "stock" front end.
Can-Con Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 It's definitly the old Monogram 1/24 kit. and it's a 1978.The Revell kits were just reissues of that kit. They never did one in 1/25.The AMT SS is just a modified reissue of the MPC annual kit last seen stock as the '82.
