Furiousgeorge Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Finally got this done! I leaned a lot with this build, and look forward to applying that to the next one. I leaned too late that the wings on these cars are aluminum and not steel, otherwise I'm happy with how this turned out!
iamsuperdan Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Very nicely done! Excellent job on the little details like the rag gas cap.
Intmd8r Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Nice work! Especially good job on the tires-its not as easy as it sounds to melt the tires and get a convincing deflated look. At least not for me.
Dodge Driver Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 Very nicely done! Excellent job on the little details like the rag gas cap. Also the battery terminal corrosion, the cloudy washer fluid tank and the exposed distributor rotor caught my eye. Nice touches.
vintagercr Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 I like the way you flattened the tires. Great weathering job.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Looks like someone stole the carburetor. You park your car a while and go do your business, and bang!! they steal the carburator... You can't park your car for 20 or 30 years no more.
Hmann68 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Love it! Great weathering and detail. You just know there's a barn out there somewhere with one parked in it, just gotta find it lol !
Furiousgeorge Posted March 18, 2017 Author Posted March 18, 2017 Thanks! This is the first car I've weathered, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out! I loved adding the little things like the rotor and rag. Next time I'm going to try tearing up seats and cracking glass.
Mr mopar Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 Nicely done ......... the hole in the muffler is a nice touch !
dieseldog1970 Posted March 18, 2017 Posted March 18, 2017 (edited) I watch your build on this....came out looking like the real deal!!! Edited March 18, 2017 by dieseldog1970
mademan Posted May 10, 2017 Posted May 10, 2017 Great build! Was my top pick @ Bridgecon, love the details.
Furiousgeorge Posted May 10, 2017 Author Posted May 10, 2017 Thanks! There were a lot of great builds there this year. I know my kids had fun building and entering.
Mike C Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Look really good. When you "restore" it, it can look like this:
