cjanderson Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 (edited) Finished the M1008. Probably things I could have done better, but will consider this a pilot build for fiture ones. Hopefully can get diorama it's going to be on all done before the show in Detroit this weekend. There were some challenges, but for most part, not too bad. I think it turned out alright and hopefully the recipient will enjoy it. Thanks for all the support. I almost forgot the push bar. That was all scratch built and took up a good chunk of my time Edited March 20, 2017 by cjanderson
redneckrigger Posted March 20, 2017 Posted March 20, 2017 Extremely well done! Having worked on MANY of these trucks and their relatives, I can say you got the details perfect! The color, weathering, and all of the little details that make it fit the military's requirements are nailed, perfectly! NICE JOB!

cjanderson Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Thanks Tom. Was flying blind on a few things. Had to dig into memory banks
wrecker388 Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Love it! Looks just like every retired real one I see occasionally roaming around. There's a guy in the town I went to High School at who had one of these along with its Blazer counterpart. Very convincing in every aspect!
gatorincebu Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 That looks to be spot on to me ! Nice job . Be Well Gator
DumpyDan Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Nice looking truck, like the detailing even the rope looks spot on
Dodge Driver Posted March 25, 2017 Posted March 25, 2017 Very well done! Realistic and highly accurate-looking.
disabled modeler Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 very nicely done...looks very realistic.
Ben Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Nice job!!!! Looks great! I noticed it only has one back up light, is that something the military did?
cjanderson Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 Nice job!!!! Looks great! I noticed it only has one back up light, is that something the military did?no. It was a piece of white decal paper that popped off. I replaced it.
Ben Posted March 28, 2017 Posted March 28, 2017 no. It was a piece of white decal paper that popped off. I replaced it. Ok, I see.
redneckrigger Posted March 30, 2017 Posted March 30, 2017 Thanks for the idea for the white decal for the backup lights.......................I was going to try to paint them on my K3500 build, but the decal works SO nice!
waynehulsey Posted May 29, 2017 Posted May 29, 2017 Nice job on that. Have photographed a few real ones at military vehicles shows with the thought of doing one someday. Glad to see someone else had the same idea.
kilrathy10 Posted June 1, 2017 Posted June 1, 2017 This is a good one....I remember seeing quite a few of these back at Camp Pendleton.....Very nice work.....
