Quicksilver Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Major purchase of house full 1-24 1-25 everything
Lordmodelbuilder Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 So, if I read this right, you bought a house & all those models & diecast went with it? Did the guy give up on the hobby or what?
1930fordpickup Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 That is an interesting purchase. You never know what someone has tucked away in a stash like this. They might not even remember what they had.
Quicksilver Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 The current owners of the house want it emptied out and the stuff ranges from the late 50's till approx 2010 and will take about another month to empty..it is insane and sad at the same time, my main interest is of course the MoPar stuff. but as yet we still have not been able to get more than 10 foot in the cellar.
vamach1 Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Looks like some gems among a whole lot of NASCAR stuff. You will have to go really low price wise to unload a lot of this if you expect a quick turnaround. As you know most people that collect certain makes already own most of what is available and do not really need that third or forth or fifth Earnhardt or Gordon stock car. Good luck.
vintagercr Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Larry, do you need help in clearing them out. I work for models.

Quicksilver Posted April 12, 2017 Author Posted April 12, 2017 Larry, do you need help in clearing them out. I work for models. I will be happy to work with everyone, once it is all in the warehouse and organized
ChrisBcritter Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 (scrolling pictures) Well, can't see too much that floats my OHMYGOD I WANT THAT 63 COMET CONVERTIBLE! (calms down) So, are you looking for trades?
Quicksilver Posted April 13, 2017 Author Posted April 13, 2017 Never know what you are going to find opening up boxes you thought had a kit in it....
lordairgtar Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Never know what you are going to find opening up boxes you thought had a kit in it.... Those clear hoods a pristine. I'd buy one. I knew a guy who did that. Kinda made it interesting to locate boxes and kit parts to rejoin with their correct boxes. Keep us in mind when you get a handle on all this. Monumental task indeed.
Russell C Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 The current owners of the house want it emptied out and the stuff ranges from the late 50's till approx 2010 .....One person accumulated all of this over that span of time?
Ben Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I feel like so much less of a hoarder now! That's nuts!
1930fordpickup Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 (edited) I am not sure what will take you more time the loading, or the sorting out all the good from the other stuff. Can't wait to see all the goodies you post. Just had another thought, you could have a whole bunch of rare parts an aspiring resin casting may want to get ahold of to start off casting small parts. espo Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Had to show these pictures to my wife. She gives me grief all the time about my stash, I've got nothing on this guy.
mr68gts Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Talk to Mark Gustavson with the Model Car Museum too. He may be able to help "unload" some of it and it is a non profit I believe.
DrKerry Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Larry, do you need help in clearing them out. I work for models. ditto that!!!!! I'll fly for free!!!!!!!!
DrKerry Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Wow, that's a find!!!! Did the guy pass away or why was it all left behind???
Lunajammer Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 Whoever it was seemed to be pretty active. Anyone we know?
Maindrian Pace Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Will be very interesting to see what is really there hidden away. That Comet is the tip of the iceberg, I have a feeling.
iamsuperdan Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 Okay. I see an AMT VW Scirocco, and an AMT Ford Escort. Can I call dibs on those? Seriously.
Spex84 Posted April 14, 2017 Posted April 14, 2017 I don't know if this place is my dream, or my nightmare O.OWow.I need to finish some projects before my pile gets like this.
gasser59 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I hope this varied collection is able to be offered to the modeling community through threads here on the forum and elsewhere. Let us know your decision.
dimaxion Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Another member and I here have a mutual long time friend with a more nightmarish accumulation than this . He is now disabled and in a home . His collection sits in 2 houses . One he abandoned in 1990 while leaving 2 floors , a Basement and an Attic containing Model cars . His new home from 1990 is now sitting idle packed with a newer stash . We know the same fate is in the future concerning this situation barring disaster . God Bless . I have interest , not much money Thanx ..
