Looking for 50's Custom reference pictures. Mostly engine bay, suspension and interior pics.

I have went thru all the google searches I can think of and thru Kustomrama web site and only found a few. Any new direction you can send me would be greatly appreciated.

If you're really interested, as well as in learning how things were actually done back in the wayback (as opposed to relying on endless pontifications from a whole lot of people who weren't there), I'd respectfully suggest looking for old issues of Hot-Rod, Rod & Custom, etc.

Though the prices of this stuff has been steadily increasing for a few years, it's still possible to find tons of period-correct reference material for reasonable money...and you'll know it's right, because it actually came from the period, and not filtered through some "expert's" view.

Deano , thanks checked out HAMB lots of Kool stuff

Draggon, Thanks joined the page (my facebook page link at bottom of post)

John , Thanks for the links ,looks like a lot good info.

Ace, Yes I am interested on how it was done back in the day. One of my facebook page cohorts told me about Rik Hoving's Fotki page. Lots and lots of pics and info including pics  of old Hot Rod , Rod and Custom and a few others including how-tos. I already copied one on chopping a 49 Merc and a pickup and how to french tail headlights. Still looking

Thanks a bunch to all of you

This particular Barris book addresses your exact needs, and the rest of the books in the series are also well worth the money. Though they were only about $15 each when I got mine, they're in the $35 range now, but still worth it in my opinion.

NOTE: All 4 books are still available directly from Barris' namesake company @$35 each, so don't pay too much elsewhere.

You're right Bill, that is also an excellent book for reference pictures.

Good advice Bill.
