DumpyDan Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Well done Steve, to me this is great love it so well done
AthOz Posted May 11, 2017 Posted May 11, 2017 Thank you! Here's an updated pic, foiled and clearcoated. This is unreal. I take my hat off
dragmodels44 Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 hey guys, update; the interior is complete. Notice the roll bar on the passenger side to go with the drag race passenger side only!
dragmodels44 Posted May 11, 2017 Author Posted May 11, 2017 here's a few more. I had to correct a few things on the interior, added the clear lens for the gauges and fixed the shifter. I also forget to blackout the tail panel, which I so ever gingerly corrected. It seems like I'm always doing it the hard way! Gotta slow down a little! But it's coming along nicely.
chepp Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Wow! Having the passenger-only roll bar is the goofy kind of detail that I like. All that masking and multi-color paint looks great. ...and that half-vinyl top on the driver's side is also a fun detail. Keep up the good work.
Davewilly Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Looking good! your doing some nice work on this one....cause thats a lot of painting to have to do!
Kuzgun Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 Very nice one. Looking neat and great. Well done my friend.
dragmodels44 Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 Thank guys! I accidentally started another thread, Krazy Kuda colors. I took it outside. The colors really popped in the sun. It was the hardest paint job I've done to date! Won't be doing that one anytime soon!
plastic trucker Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 You sure made it look easy as you went along with the updates.
iamsuperdan Posted May 12, 2017 Posted May 12, 2017 It's goofy, but I really like how this turned out. Question: how did you make the vinyl roof? I have a kit that will require a vinyl roof for my vision. THanks!
dragmodels44 Posted May 12, 2017 Author Posted May 12, 2017 heres a pic of the vinyl roof paint. You could also use flat black, or better yet semi gloss black then spray it on from. A greater distance so it almost dry by the time it hits the roof.
Slotto Posted May 14, 2017 Posted May 14, 2017 Great build Steve. It's been fun following your progress.
larman Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 That is too cool! I always thought that car would make a great model, but I would never want to tackle the paint and masking!
Peter Lombardo Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Wow, looks great. intricate and yet bold, very well done.
