afx Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 (edited) Built from scratch by my daughter who just finished her freshman year in college studying graphic art. Her description: A miniature model of Claptrap from the Borderlands video game franchise. Made from polymer clay, and bits of wire. Finished with a couple of light washes of acrylic paint to emphasize the shadows and highlights. The base is made from polymer clay as well. For scale reference: Edited July 7, 2017 by afx
cobraman Posted July 7, 2017 Posted July 7, 2017 Cool ! Reminds me of the 3 robots from the movie Silent Running I think it was called. Had Bruce Dern in it.
afx Posted July 8, 2017 Author Posted July 8, 2017 (edited) Thanks Ray. Never saw the movie but I found the trailer. Edited July 8, 2017 by afx
misterNNL Posted July 12, 2017 Posted July 12, 2017 Thanks for posting the trailer.Facinating plot and very plausible.Any more "bots"hanging around your work shop?
afx Posted July 12, 2017 Author Posted July 12, 2017 My daughter made the bot from clay, way beyond my skills. I'll stick to plastic.Yea I may have to track down that movie, it has piqued my curiosity.
cobraman Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 It's really not a bad movie for it's time. I saw it when it first hit the theaters. ( I'm old ! )
bobthehobbyguy Posted July 13, 2017 Posted July 13, 2017 Really nice work on the bot. Impressed on how much detail for the size.I also saw it in the theaters. It was a fun movie. Worth tracking down.
Edward Gore Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 Nice! Please ask your daughter to make more models and post them here.
