Used the Revell 66 Suburban into Police unit, Don't know if LAPD ever used Suburbans  but used Johan police parts and used Rustoleum paint for plastic white and Tamiya gloss black. Kit is fragile at front fenders above wheel well, right side cracked on me. Antenna base load is cut from Dental micro adhesive applicator.

Some nice looking cars here. Did this one back in 2008, I know it's not in the budget for most police departments, but man what fun would it be to see this swiftly approaching in your rear view mirror..?

I've built a few police vehicles over the years.  First is a Revell Audi R8 with some aftermarket decals to make up a Dubai police car.  I have a couple more decals to make some other Dubai cars also.  Next is the Fujimi model of the I believe Italian Polizia Lamborghini Gallardo.  The next picture I found online of a Lamborghini Gallardo that was donated to the LAPD that I thought looked really neat, so I decided to build a version of it.  I'm pretty sure the kit was a Fujimi one, and I made up & printed my own LAPD decals to use on the build, and I thought it looked better with a thin design light bar that I found online. The next one is a Testors metal Crown Vic police kit that I made NOPD decals for and built for my step-brother as a gift.  He is a corrections officer in New Orleans.  While on a business trip to Taiwan in the late 80s I saw these BMW 5 Series cars used as police cars on the highway, and thought they were pretty interesting.  I used a Fujimi BMW M5 kit to start, modified some Mercedes wheels to look like the ones on the car, and this was before I was making my own decals, so the emblems on the door were hand painted.  I built a police model that was a give away one year for the NNL West show, but I don't have any pics of it.  I'm also working on a model of a Nash Metropolitan and an NYPD Smart car police car.

Here's my only police car so far.  It's the Lindberg Florida Highway Patrol 2006 Dodge Charger that i completed back in April of 2017.  It's essentially box-stock, but I did put on a different light bar from the kit rather than the one the instructions recommended.  The logos on the fenders between the front tires & the door (I can't remember what they're called) are from The Police Decal Shop.

Did this to replicate a 1950 Oldsmobile used by the California Highway Patrol. Used the Revell '50 Olds's kit as a base and used some decals I had from a long-closed supplier. The spotlights and rear package tray lights that were the fog lamps in the Galaxie Chevrolet kit. The radio equipment is from a Revell '57 ford wagon kit.

I did this a looooong time ago.  This is my local police dept rendition of a cruiser I was assigned to back in the 90's.  I added an custom aftermarket light bar, texture to the front seats, made the back seat a one piece safety seat with restraint system, and home made decals from photos of the actual markings of the 1:1 car.

Two of mine. Both were built simultaneously. The older chevy is not correct, but I liked the scheme. My next one will be based on the 70 Ford police car from ATM. Just need to find out what color they were back then. The green and gold came about around 73-74.
