highway Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 (edited) It has been too many years since I have been able to say this, but I HAVE COMPLETED NOT JUST ONE BUT TWO MODELS!!! The red one is Tamiya's 1984 Honda Civic Hatchback built as the export version with the optional left hand drive dash and the black one is Fujimi's 2002 Civic Type R. I built these as a break from a few very highly customized builds, both are box stock, and showed I have a few skills to brush up on like trim painting and had a few glue goof ups on the windows even though I used Testors Clear Parts glue and tried to clean up the goof ups with water. The large black decal across the bottom of the window on the 84 also gave me a little rough time cracking as I was trying to position it. They by far are not the best I have ever built or won't win any contests, but at least finally ended a probably 15 year streak of starting but never finishing builds! I also started two Fujimi garage kits to serve as a backdrop for the pictures. Edited July 18, 2017 by highway
tmathew1us Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Nice job, fun to see the different generations. Sometimes just getting a car off the "shelf of doom" can start a streak of completing some more projects. Hopefully that will be the case with you soon!

Thank you Tom, and it already has been doing that, though I have quite a few "shelves of doom"! I originally just started with the 84 after buying it from a friend, then the 02 followed, and then a couple near completed builds of a R34 Skyline and an 09 Challenger jumped on the desk too.
Dann Tier Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Congratulations on getting some builds done!!, I know how you feel. You haven't missed a beat, these cars look great!! -Love the subject matter as well!
