Iroc crazy Posted August 17, 2017 Posted August 17, 2017 (edited) I'm curious would it be possible to use the stock intake manifoldAnd tripower setup with air cleaner and put it on a 302 for a project Edited August 21, 2017 by Iroc crazy
Mooneyzs Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Josh... If you are willing to spend a little cash TDR has some Big Blocks which are 3D printed from Shapeways. Here is their link to their site, you will pay about 60 to 90 bucks depending on the material its printed in:https://sites.google.com/site/tdrhtmllearn/home/engine-shop/chevy-engine-selection/bbc-basic-block-kitsLinks to the listing on shapeways:https://www.shapeways.com/product/9L5D2WK8X/1-12-scale-stock-bbc-block-kit-with-mech-fuelpump?li=shareProduct&optionId=43537199https://www.shapeways.com/product/M6QUGD6LY/1-12-stock-bbc-block-kit-no-mech-fuel-pump?li=shortUrl
Iroc crazy Posted August 18, 2017 Author Posted August 18, 2017 What I'm looking for is the 67 vette 427 engine coupe it's for A project that Revell should have released but never did69 Yenko Camaro 427 with tripower setup that is why I don't think3-d printing would work I've researched it out has a munci 4 speed manualTrans thanks for your help with this
Casey Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 No, the tri-carb BBC intake manifold will be too large/wide to fit properly on the SBC engine.FYI, there is a fair amount of work needed to swap the 1/12 BBC into the 1/12 '69 Camaro. The 'Vette kit's exhaust manifold will not work, nor will the headers, so plan on making your own, either way. Radiator and fan shroud will need healthy modification, too.
Iroc crazy Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 This is why I didn't jump head first into the project couldn'tAnyway don't have the 427 to attempt the swap Jordan white a member on here is doing the same thing so I'll see if he'sSuccessful doing it and if he runs into the problems you stated we knowYenko Camaro's are Rare and z28's not as rare as 427 Camaro's thank you for your input
Scale-Master Posted August 24, 2017 Posted August 24, 2017 I've done the swap. A lot of small things need to be addressed besides the larger more obvious ones if you want it to be accurate for a factory BB. Like changing the heater box. Big block Camaros used a different one than the one rendered in the kit. I was able to use the Corvette headers, but heavily modified them and used the Camaro chambered exhaust.
Iroc crazy Posted August 24, 2017 Author Posted August 24, 2017 I'd like to keep the chambered exhaust system the headers are my issue I DON'T have a 427 yet cauldron makes it but wrong scale in 1/8 so close yet so far
Scale-Master Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Here's how I kept the Camaro exhaust and mated it to the modified Corvette headers.
Iroc crazy Posted August 25, 2017 Author Posted August 25, 2017 Ah cool I will keep that in mind I thought of another optionWhat about a tiko 3-d printer scale is my only question is howDo you take what's in your mind and load it in the printer
Scale-Master Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 I'm not 100% sure of your question, but to get something 3D printed you'll need a 3D model to print from. I use SolidWorks to create them, but there are other programs, and some are free.
Iroc crazy Posted August 25, 2017 Author Posted August 25, 2017 (edited) Tiko is a 3d printer just curious if it's easy to use and how can you3d print out parts in say 1/12 scale all new to me Edited August 25, 2017 by Iroc crazy
Scale-Master Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 You will still need a 3D model to print from. Just like if you have a laser printer you'll need a document for it to print. Printers are just output devices. They don't create the part, that is done with software, they just print out the design.
