Jonathan Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Well, with school starting back, I think it's time to wheel out the S'Cool Bus! This is the Monogram 1/24ish Tom Daniel's S'Cool Bus. I've never built one before, and I'm having a blast with this. I can see I need to do a little clean up on the black edges, but still ... this is just a cool old kit. Thanks for looking!
Slotto Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Really cool. I remember back when I was a kid back in the 70s we were visiting relatives in WV. There was a corner market owned by a local family and they had a display case in the front of the store and it was filled with built models. I remember like yesterday I saw a S'cool Bus in that display case. Thanks for a trip in the wayback machine!
spike morelli Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Love the Tom Daniels stuff as well! At one time, I had the "jones' to collect all show car models. I'm 62, and the sixties kits really take me back to a fun time. I built Tom's "Beer Wagon" kit not too long ago, and it was a kick ! Being new to this site, (this is only one of my beginning posts), I haven't posted any of my models ......yet.......but I have lots, just need to photograph some and put them in the computer file and hope to join in the chatter with you guys.
BIGTRUCK Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 I have a bunch of these showrod kits and enjoy buiding one once in awhile. That S'cool bus is looking great, I like the 2 tone.
disabled modeler Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 Very nice..! I love the Show rod series kits have ever since I was a kid. Maybe someday Ill find/afford my grail kit of them...Un-Real Roller...???
Jonathan Posted September 10, 2017 Author Posted September 10, 2017 Thanks! So, I kind of shot myself in the foot as they say. Cleared the hood/front fenders - and then knocked it off the paint stand. Then, I burned through the paint trying to fix it. Oops ... Anywho ... pics so far:
hobbybobby Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 (edited) I have this kit started a long time ago,, but never finished... Your looks fantastic so far, Jonathan! Edited September 10, 2017 by hobbybobby
Davewilly Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 looks pretty cool so far...I have one in my stash to build someday...I built on as a kid when it first came out...but its long gone...
mod3l Lover Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I like that hood just the way it is!! It hasa weathered look that seems just right! David S.
Tom Geiger Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I can see I need to do a little clean up on the black edges, but still ... this is just a cool old kit. Jonathan, what did you use for your masking lines? You would get much better results with Tamiya tape. It is more expensive than regular tape but you only use it for the match lines.

I was thinking of redoing the paint job, but I've already decaled the body and I have no more decals! My own undoing, I realize ...
Jonathan Posted September 27, 2017 Author Posted September 27, 2017 Finished. I kind of gave up on this one. I lost two of the lights. But, it was fun and I think I'll try another one day.
Truck parts Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Great looking build, I need to finish the one I started a few years ago
Tom Geiger Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Looks great! I see you got your paint lines cleaned up. It is a fun kit. A bit simple and somewhat unrealistic, but hey it was made for kids! Only we got older!
Vince66 Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Love it need to find another to build gun easy kit.Ditto on the wayback
disabled modeler Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Nice work....maybe someday they will bring out more of the older Monogram show rods kits for us to enjoy again..?
