Twokidsnosleep Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 (edited) Been working on a Fujimi 928 for a group build on another forum Putting my spin on it with wheels flares and shaved doors. The wheels will get body colour paint. Edited September 12, 2017 by Twokidsnosleep
Twokidsnosleep Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 (edited) The kit is nicely moulded, but pretty basic. It is a curbside so no engine. Have always loved the rear end of this car design, but have a distinct dislike of Porsche's 'phone dial' mags that were common on 928. So I chose some Nismo spoked mags for it. Bad decision as I have had to re-engineer the front and rear axels to accept a brass bolt to allow the new wheels to attach. I h Edited September 12, 2017 by Twokidsnosleep
Foxer Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 One of my favorite cars ... interesting take on the wheels

iamsuperdan Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 I've always loved the 928. Looking forward to seeing more!
FabbricaP Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Great to see this car get built. It really is an underrated Porsche.
djflyer Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Definitely underrated and some times maligned by the Porsche purists. Still a great car and am glad to see the build you have going. Considering how many kits there has been of the 928, I seem to recall only one had a complete driveline.Looking forward to what comes next with this one.
Twokidsnosleep Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 (edited) Yes drivetrain was fun, but mostly my fault for wanting after market wheels Her soft underbelly with a threaded brass axle Offset front and rear tires and making some disk brakes In her first primer coat with some fender flares and body shaving Much better posting on the iMac than the iPad Edited September 12, 2017 by Twokidsnosleep
Foxer Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I like the flares and nice job with the wheel mounting.
Twokidsnosleep Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 (edited) Thank you my friend, I am moving this build along to finish by mid week I did some chrome tips by flaring some aluminum tube Then the rims, brakes and such are painted up And then the mock up on the freshly painted body Final wheel and rim close up There we are, you are all caught up to me now. Have to touch up body paint, a pinstripe, clear and polish and then add all the fiddly bits Edited September 12, 2017 by Twokidsnosleep
Twokidsnosleep Posted September 13, 2017 Author Posted September 13, 2017 Got her pretty much done last night Have just assembled and not cemented glass and body on so can take it off. My clear didn't come out quite as nice as hoped, but live and learn
