Mike999 Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 ICM #24009 1/24 American Mechanics (1910s) (3 figures). Already in stock at some on-line vendors. Since overalls are pretty generic, I can see these girls being useful in all kinds of dioramas: fixing a broken-down car on Route 66 during the Depression; gas-station attendants and "Rosie The Riveters" during WWII; helping the boyfriend fix his hot rod (or working on her own) in the 1950s; under the hood of a Sixties muscle car, etc. etc.
Xingu Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 It's the high heel work boots that will be hard to disguise.

Mike999 Posted October 30, 2017 Author Posted October 30, 2017 It's the high heel work boots that will be hard to disguise. No problem. I have lots of old 1/24 figures that are not very good. I can just amputate their feet.
bbowser Posted October 30, 2017 Posted October 30, 2017 This seems odd to me. I don't think there were a lot of women mechanics in the Model T era, although I could be wrong. A strange subject for sure.

A strange subject for sure.Maybe something to do with World War 1. Certainly during WW2 many women trained as mechanics, even Princess Elizabeth, now Queen of England. That doesn't explain the heels though.
Agent G Posted October 31, 2017 Posted October 31, 2017 I would think this was the inspiration. High heels included.
