iamsuperdan Posted November 23, 2017 Author Posted November 23, 2017 A few months ago on eBay, somebody sold a lot of 6 different YODEL police kits: CHP/LAPD/NYPD/NY Port Authority/San Diego Sheriff/New Jersey State Police. IIRC, the lot went for a little over $100. I've been kicking myself ever since that I didn't bid (as I often do on eBay). I just checked eBay Completed Items for the auction but couldn't find it.The lot went for $100?! On Ebay right now, there's a handful of these kits, each one going for $130+!
iamsuperdan Posted November 23, 2017 Author Posted November 23, 2017 Dont know if youve seen these on Ebay yet? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25-scale-1977-78-Plymouth-Fury-resin-grille-Dukes-of-Hazzard-A-Team-etc/232572544579?hash=item3626676643:g:4IkAAOSwn25aFqar I ordered a set today as well; grille and headlights. And he's already reached out to me, the package has already been shipped!
Mike999 Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 The lot went for $100?! On Ebay right now, there's a handful of these kits, each one going for $130+!I found it. The lot only got 3 bids and sold for $122.50. It ended on Sept. 25. It was 6 kits, but it had 2 of the San Diego Sheriff cars and none of the Port Authority Police. A couple of kits were incomplete and 1 was started. Link below to the completed auction. You're right, these YODEL kits are often listed on eBay for over $100. But looking at Completed Items, most don't sell for that. They seem to sell more often in the $20-$40 range, which doesn't seem too unreasonable considering their age (and the current price of kits). The highest recent price I could find, actually paid, was $49.95 with only 1 bidder. Those sky-high "asking" prices look like the usual eBay nonsense. For anyone interested in the kits, that listing had big photos of them, showing some of the contents. mchook Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Hi, I found these tonight on ebay.https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25-scale-1977-78-Plymouth-Fury-resin-grille-Dukes-of-Hazzard-A-Team-etc/232574017316?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25-1977-78-Dodge-Monaco-Plymouth-Fury-headlights-Dukes-of-Hazzard-Police/232574039017?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-25-75-76-Plymouth-Fury-Dodge-Coronet-headlights-Dukes-of-Hazzard-Police/232574011157?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
av405 Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 Those are the same ones that were posted on page 1. I bought the grill from him. The seller is out of Portugal and so far has been very professional. He sends you a direct email thanking you for your purchase. I asked him if he was going to be making any other parts in the future and he said he had more conversions in mind for the 1975-1976 models, including grills and tail lights. I hope people keep buying his products so he can expand.
iamsuperdan Posted November 28, 2017 Author Posted November 28, 2017 (edited) Update for you guys. My order from Shapeways arrived just now. Only took a week to get to Canada, so that's pretty good. Initial thoughts..holy packaging. Kit sized box, with multiple layers of large shipping air packs, then each piece in it's own bubble wrapped envelope. Absolutely no chance of shipping damage. As for the parts, they look okay. Molded in a sort of semi-transparent resin. They seem brittle, will see what happens when I start sanding and shaping them. The lettering on the grille looks correct, maybe a little oversized. I'm going to hit them with some primer, as I think that will better show the details. Will post those pics later. iamsuperdan Posted December 11, 2017 Author Posted December 11, 2017 The Ebay set of grille and headlight upgrades arrived today. Pretty good. Only took a couple of weeks to get to Canada from Portugal! Quality looks pretty good. I like that the grille has a big tab to hang on to. Should make it easier to hold while trying to paint and detail. I guess I should start trying to build this thing!
av405 Posted December 11, 2017 Posted December 11, 2017 I just got my set too. Very happy with the quality and when I test fitted on the Monaco body, I saw that the dimensions were just right. Very pleased.

Thanks for the heads up guys, just ordered these parts through his website, can't wait, cuz back in the '70s the NYPD used these.....
Luc Janssens Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Got the parts last week, they look fantastic, another project I have all the parts for now, it's only a matter of finding some time and the mindset
camaro69 Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 Hi everyone, if you are interested, my grille from shapeways is already painted. The Taillghts too. @ iamsuperdan: Yes, these parts are brittle but don´t worry, it works.
iamsuperdan Posted January 9, 2018 Author Posted January 9, 2018 That turned out great! If you check the "On The Bench" section, I've started my build.
gator52 Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Regarding the Yodel NYPD Fury, from what I've seen I believe it's a 77, but I'm looking to clarify what it would take to make it a 76. Round headlights? I am no expert on 1970s car models, but it's clear that the experts are gathered in this thread! Thanks Jonah
iamsuperdan Posted January 11, 2018 Author Posted January 11, 2018 Having just acquired a Yodel Fury, I can say without a doubt that it would be either a 77 or 78 model. The 76 definitely had round headlights, and in 79 it no longer existed.
stavanzer Posted October 24, 2019 Posted October 24, 2019 Is Magister Resin still around? I had his site bookmarked for these Monaco/Fury parts, bit it has disappeared. Anybody want to sell a st of the grill pieces?
