Who's getting one? ^_^

I am. I've always stated on here that being a child of the 90's, I wanted to see more of the cars I grew up with. So I'm putting my money where my mouth is. The fact that it can be built as a plain Cutlass is the deciding factor.

This fine FE3 was at the muscle car nationals last month...it was nice...can't wait to pick up the kit.

That is THE FE3 car owned by Angelo (I forget his last name), the exact car Revell based this version of the kit upon. He was involved with the measuring/picture taking long ago, when Revell first decided to proceed with the Cutlass kit(s).

Looks cheesy as heck, typical 80's really.

A Gutless Supreme for the collection? Why not!

That was mine, well close, it had wired hubcaps, and the landau top, but same color, which, reminds me, I need to find out what that color code is

One of the BIGGEST mistakes by G.M. in the 80's --- in the era of an unquenchable thirst for wrong-wheel-drive platforms --- was the dropping of the G-bodies !

Certainly , a gutless pile-of-Bandini 2.8 litre V6 driving the wrong end of the car was MUCH better then the rear-drive , full-frame , V8-powered G-bods .

Admittedly , not a fan of 80's customs ( I was in my teens when those hideous custom "touches" were popular ) , and resultantly , not a fan of the FE3 per se , but I will add this 2-in-1 kit to my collection .

I was a kid, to be exact, 5 when the FE3 was out

But you are right, mine could not get out the way of its own shadow, that V6 was so underpowered,  spinning the tires, lol, only if you were on ice.  But it was still a fun car to drive .

The above is still a good looking car to me. I miss the full-frame rear wheel drive cars built up through the 80's. The front wheel drive, modern unibody cars are the best cars ever. But, they have no style or soul.

Look up that car though, it's not just a show car, it was built to prove what the G-Body was capable of. That car could pull 1g on a skid pad and was basically a warmed over H/O with bigger rims and big, sticky tires paired with the aero improvements, including a dash adjustable rear spoiler.

Picked this up yesterday, 2 hood options, FE3 with scoop or the flat 442 hood,  the hood from the Hurst is not in the kit, three front clips, FE3, 442, or Hurst, two wheel options, FE3 wheels or the Rallye II wheels. Only issue I have is that they didn’t update the center console, it still uses the Hurst lightning rod shifter, but scratch building the regular console and shifter should be super easy.

Doeesnt change the fact that it looks cheesy to me, just my opinion .

I want at least three of them with one being built as a Cutlass Calais with the Landau Vinyl Roof and White wall Tires and another as a 442.

I'm wondering what would make a good set of white wall tires..can't think of any right off that would be the right size for an '80s midsize.  I have a set of Missing Link GM chrome wire wheel covers that should work on a base or Supreme version.

Straight-out Supreme looks pretty easy from this kit.

TIRES. As with the Hurst are the Polyglas-style that debuted with the 'Cuda - for both the stock and the FE3.  Too bad Monogram never did any low-profile Gatorbacks oh, 33 years ago, say.

Narrower, more '80s-looking radials are as close as your nearest "Bandit" Firebird - they fit a bit loosely on the Cutlass wheels, but they should work.  To get proper, low-profile rubber on the supplied FE3 wheels, m a y y b e e  AMT Gatorbacks from the late '90s… ?

While I don't think there are many suitably 80's whitewall radials out there (would be nice if Fireball Modelworks did some....), if you can live w/the kit tires, Bandit T/A smooth-side tires, or similar (even old TRX tires from the parts box), and use either Pegasus vinyl whitewall stickers or are adept using a circle template w/a white "Gellyroll" gel pen, you can get pretty decent results.
