Real, AFAIK!  That came from eBay, listed by a vendor in Japan.  I was scrolling thru the "Ending Soonest" listings, saw it and grabbed the pic.

The photo's not bad. What was bad was the judgement of whoever thought that thing would sell enough kits to make back its tooling and distribution costs. 

Of course, nowadays, it's a valuable collectible....

I picked one up at my LHS dirt cheap about 20 years ago.  I got it home and wondered what the heck I was thinking and what could I do with it.

Here's what I did.

We've been poking fun at this, but Porsche got away with on a real *production* car....

Anyway, I still think the box is UGLY.
