unclescott58 Posted December 9, 2017 Posted December 9, 2017 I love vintage advertising. Here some ads/flyers that would not have appeared in comic books, like my other thread on model ads. These seem to aimed at different audience overall than the comic book ads.
unclescott58 Posted December 9, 2017 Author Posted December 9, 2017 (edited) Here's one from Rewal of some kits I'd love to see make a come back. Edited December 9, 2017 by unclescott58

unclescott58 Posted December 9, 2017 Author Posted December 9, 2017 AMT was not the only advertising.
Mike999 Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Thanks a bunch! A lot of those seem to be trade ads, aimed at retailers. Tons of interesting info in there. In the first ad, I'd love to find one of those '58 Chevy wagons, even if it is a "flywheel" model.

The trouble is that they were acetate-bodied promos and by now you could never find one that's not warped beyond recognition. If you did it would just be a matter of time. It's a terrible shame but true. Some of them still seem to bring high prices despite the warping!
DumpyDan Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Man a time machine would really come in handy, to go back to the early 60's. Thanks enjoyed all of them.
moparfarmer Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 A friend of mine has three complete AMT race tracks. One is brand new still sealed and unopened, the other two have been reconditioned and work perfectly..He's made about a dozen more cars from JoHan and Lindberg Mopar kits..Sure is fun to play with on those stormy night when the highways are nearly impassable..He lives about 30 miles from me..It sure brings back memories..They were huge money when they were released and he did pay dearly for the three he got on the Bay from the same guy..

bbowser Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 I wonder what magazines these would have been in if not comic books? Hot Rod, Car Craft, Motor Trend?

I'm wondering if they were announced by AMT, but never produced? Like their Porsche 911 kit back in '67. And their garbage truck in the mid-1970's.
