DoctorLarry Posted March 8, 2018 Author Posted March 8, 2018 Thanks, gents. I appreciate the feedback.
DoctorLarry Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Picked back up on this project after a summer off. The body is really close (still working on those pesky bumpers) and now I am working on the interior. It is very complicated. The dash and seats are quite complex so it is very time consuming to cut bunches of small plastic pieces to replicate pleats and piping but I hope to get this done and in resin soon.

fordf-100 Posted November 13, 2018 Posted November 13, 2018 Awesome work! Looks great ! If you don't mind me asking how did the Monte Carlo roof work on the Cutlass body? I have no where near the skills you do but I would like to make a 73 Cutlass Supreme from a broken JoHan promo body I have.
DoctorLarry Posted November 13, 2018 Author Posted November 13, 2018 Front pillars line up fine. You have to do a little surgery at the back but it fits fine. You could just section the roof forward of the rear pillars and graft the back in as well.

Try tucking them in more and removing some of the overhang on the sides. Shape is good, there's just too much bumper hanging out the sides. Car looks good, keep it up!
DoctorLarry Posted November 15, 2018 Author Posted November 15, 2018 The bumpers are the hardest thing to get looking right on these cars. They were big and ugly when new and trying to work from pictures is hard to do. I have mede three sets so far and they all look like big, ugly bumpers. Thanks for the comments.

I actually owned a 76 Laguna S3 for about 10 years and replaced the front bumper. That thing took two people to lift! Yup a friend of mine is currently trying to restore a Laguna S3,and both bumpers weight a ton.
DoctorLarry Posted December 4, 2018 Author Posted December 4, 2018 Work slowly progressing. I have the interior tub mostly done, seats are close, now I'm working on the dash. Lots of small parts here..
DoctorLarry Posted December 29, 2019 Author Posted December 29, 2019 Finished the bumpers and shot some paint. Needs to be wet sanded and re-shot, but It should be ready for casting next week.
charger74 Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Thats really nice, it will be on my want list !!!
Bucky Posted December 29, 2019 Posted December 29, 2019 Very interesting project! Great subject matter. Your work looks great, too! What were the model companies thinking in the 70's? We missed out on a bunch of cool GM and Ford possibilities! I actually came very close to buying a new Free Spirit Buick that year, but changed my mind and went back to a MOPAR.
