Pete J.
At first I was not a real fan of the new format then I discovered a little trick that I have been using. Then I first bring up the forum, which I have me show only stuff I haven't read, I go straight to the bottom and "load more" until it gets to the "no more to load" and then work my way back up the list. Just seems a little easier and quicker for me. Wondered if any one else does this?
Snake45
I just start at the top and look down until I hit a "grey" thread, which means I've read that thread, which means I've read everything under that.
peteski
I go only to the sections I'm interested in, and read only the new posts in the threads I'm interested in. Then I mark each forum section read. At the end of the session I mark the entire site as read.
Pete J.
Peteski, thanks for the tip. I didn't notice how easy it was to pick the topics in the new software. Yes, that is a great way to do it. Not a fan to slogging through stuff that has little or no interest for me.
Bucky
I've been keeping the ACTIVITY tab pulled up on a pinned window on my PC. Once in a while, I hit the refresh button to see what new posts have been added. I then go through and check the ones I want to read. It seems to work for me, so far. crazyjim
The new format still has me messed up but I'm plugging along.

I have been a member here for several years and this is how I always read the forum: I pick only new messages I'm interested in and only in the specific sections I frequent. I do the same on couple of other forum I participate in.
The Creative Explorer
I must say, with the new format, I read a whole lot less posts than I did before. Before, I always used the latest post button and worked my way through the board. Even though the new style has the same kind of functionallity, I find it more cluttered and less efficient, And I think it is because of that, that i barely click on topics no more, unofrtunately. Just out of curiosity, have you played with the "condensed/expanded" button in the upper right yet? I found the very same thing until I hit on that. I like the condensed version. Much easier to follow.
crazyjim
I don't see that button.

Go to Unread Content and on the right side, just above the first unread post, there will be an area that says "Condensed Expanded" click on whichever you prefer. Or you can click on the little arrow at the far right of the bar in each forum's title box. I routinely keep the Truck section condensed. All others have at least one subforum I like to check on regularly.

I don't know what it is exactly, but for me it ends up in being the forum less appealing to follow. (I don't have specific forum sections of interest, I'd like to read through the whole forum)
