C1 Metalizer is a fine buffing powder that can be applied over a painted surface to create a realistic metallic shine.

The powder is very versatile, it can applied over almost any paint type and colour to vary the overall effect. The colour of base coat chosen will determine the hue of the finish - black will create a darker chrome look, metallic gunmetal and metallic blue will achieve a brighter chrome finish.

Surfaces can be masked prior to application

Decals can be applied on top

The finish does not rub off with handling and finger prints can be wiped away which negates the application of any clear coat.

The product is very similar to 'Kosutte Gin San' by 'WORK' of Japan but differs in that C1 Metalizer is non toxic and non combustible.

I have used this on a few models and it works really well to give a metal like finish. It works better on some colours than others. I find it is very good on dark colours like black, some silvers and aluminums. I did this BatPod with the C1 powder and no paint. The Ducati has C1 on the wheels, rear swingarm and engine. Make sure that: 1 - always wear a full paint mask! 2 - always wear gloves. 3 - your paint is fully cured. 4 - if you mess up, rinse it right away under water and it should rinse off.

Good stuff. I recommend it. Bought it about four years ago and it works as advertised. Just make sure you don't apply it in a room with open windows or a draft. The powder will get on everything and is almost impossible to clean up.

Sounds like SNJ powder which airplane modelers have been using for years. I got some and tried it and it works as advertised, but I haven't used it on a full project yet. I think it's aluminum powder, which is one of the most dangerous things you can breathe in, so DON'T use the stuff without a good dust mask!

I haven't tried it with C1 Metalizer. I'll have to test it. I did with SNJ Metal Powder; so, you can probably do the same with this stuff. I used light oversprays of MM Metalizer Jet Exhaust, Burnt Iron and Burnt Metal along with applications of Tamiya Smoke, Clear Blue, Clear Orange and Clear Yellow Tamiya Smoke, Clear Blue, Clear Orange, Clear Yellow on jet aircraft I built for a hobby shop display some years ago. The C1 is more durable than the SNJ product and you can mask over it without the risk of dulling or pulling it off. I'd suggest using Parafilm or frisket paper for that.

Tip:

You can polish Metalizer by using graphite powder on a Q-Tip, or a soft cotton cloth, and lightly buffing it. It works on all shades and doesn't affect the color.
