Use different diameters of hollow tubing (brass/aluminum/stainless) that fit inside one another.

I seem to remember reading that somewhere in the past. ???

I don’t think I’ve seen tubing that tiny? I have insulin needles but I’m pretty sure they’re too big.

Cool, I’ll double check the insulin needles I have here to see if they’ll work for the lower part. I think I have some very tiny brass wire as well. Thanks! :)

Stainless steel hypodermic tubing (as mentioned above) is the answer. The thinnest (top) segment can be made from a stainless steel wire.

There used to be a company in Florida called Small Parts Inc. They had a huge selection of that tubing (and wire). That is where I got bunch of it.  That company got absorbed by Amazon and the selection and ease of ordering went down the tubes.  But if you Google for hypodermic tubing, you might find some sources.

Ok, I’ll check it out! Thanks!

What’s the best way to make an accurate telescoping antenna. Non working.

If you want to experiment a bit: try metal etching, either with masking or by dipping only the part that you want to etch off. I once did it with electricity (train transformer) in a salt bath - worked very well. The main advantage is that you can use spring steel wire, that is so much stronger than brass.
