Ben Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 (edited) Does anyone offer a seat belt kit that has photo etch buckles and plain blue ribbon for the belts? I checked detail master and Model Car Garage but no luck. A combination of a fabric belt kit and a photo etch buckle kit would work too, if they work together with each other. High octane Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 I make my seat belts out of masking tape cut to fit the width of the photo-etched hardware, and painted any color that I want them. It works good, try it.

When people look through the windows or window openings of your model, who's gonna be able to tell if you're using ribbon or not? Maybe if they use a flashlight and or a magnifying glass.

Exotics_Builder Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 (edited) Best bet is get a detail kit from Detail Master, MCG or others and get First Aid paper tape if for a street vehicle. I lay it on a small piece of glass, cut it and color it. For a race car, I often use Solder Remover. It can be shaped and colored and you would use racing style hardware. Or look for sets like these: Edited February 5, 2018 by Exotics_Builder
ScottH454 Posted February 5, 2018 Posted February 5, 2018 (edited) Don't use masking tape, people can tell the difference. I haven't fit the ribbon I have to the photoetch, but it is the most realistic I found. This stuff is more like a cloth, no frills on the edges, an not shiney like most ribbon. You can buy black and white then use a blue marker on the white ribbon. Link to ebay listing, you will want 2mm:https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F401110263622 Edited February 5, 2018 by ScottH454
