junkyardjeff
I really wanted to use my Monogram parts but it might take awhile to find the body parts needed so I found a AMT 5 window that had a complete body and a couple A motors at the hobby shop today. Not sure if I am going to use wire wheels or steel rims but have a set of 40 rims.

junkyardjeff
I got a set of the 34 p/u wire wheels coming and need to find the front suspension.
El Caballo
A banger '34, that's different! I'm looking forward to seeing this done.
junkyardjeff
Not too impressed with this kit,the inner fenders attach to the frame and are too big and make the front of the body sit too high. Had to do some grinding on them to get it down where it looks better,I built one years ago and probably left those off.
Eric Macleod
I like where you are going here and may steal your idea for a future model project. Great work so far.
junkyardjeff
The motor is painted and made a air cleaner that looks similar to a original.
junkyardjeff
Not sure if I want to use the wires and will most likely use steel rims and 40 hub caps with big and little tires,I just can not build completely stock.
Eric Macleod
The AMT wires are pretty bad IMHO. No crime would be done omitting them.

Norm Veber of Replica's and Miniatures of Maryland makes a very correct Ford 18" wire wheel & tire set, FWIW. I realize that it's 1mm larger diameter than the '33-'34 Ford wheels, but if you take into account that his wheels are 1/25, and the Monogram '34 Ford is 1/24th, then it works. junkyardjeff
The wire wheels arrived and I am not going to use them, they are nothing like the Monogram parts,I did not pay much so no big loss and could definately use the tires that came with them. JollySipper
Hey, friend........ Did you find a stock front suspension yet? I have the one from the Monogram '37 I could send you if you need it........
espo
I like that you're using the 4Cylinder engine on this . I don't know for sure about what Ford used on the '34's for wheels but I think they would have been Wires, or maybe even the "Wide Five" steel wheels. junkyardjeff
34 used wire wheels but AMTs are questionable so I am going to use 40 rims and hubcaps since I have plenty and like them much better, not really going to have everything stock but will have period upgrades. I have one that I am trying to make work.
junkyardjeff
After getting the 34 p/u wheels off ebay I picked up a parts kit for the front axle.
junkyardjeff
I wanted a dark blue but could not find any I liked so it got rootbeer brown,I also did not like the 34 wire wheels so its getting 53 p/u rims.
ChrisBcritter
Hi Jeff, could we see the wire wheels you aren't using? I've been casting up some hard-to-find hubcaps lately - like the ITC '40 Mercury, AMT '60 Ford pickup, and Monogram '40 Ford pickup stock caps - let me know if one of these tickles your fancy. junkyardjeff
Its getting closer, tail lights, bumpers and hubcaps and it will be done. Might paint the top insert and this one was a pain to get the front suspension they way I wanted it.
