Moebius Models Under New Ownership

Seems like it's been forever since I've posted on here. About a month is appears. I just want to let everyone know that sometime over the weekend there will be a press release at www.moebiusmodels.com detailing the sale of the company.

I am hoping everyone doesn't jump to conclusions and think that there's a problem, or that bad things will happen like you may be used to. Things will go on as scheduled. Nothing is being cancelled. All licensing is in the process of being transferred. Bob and Dave are still here. I (Frank) am still here for the time being.

I can honestly say that in some areas, there will be more than I would have done. I am honestly physically and emotionally burned out by it all. It's been a long 12 years, and my time is over. With family issues, and my own health issues that need work, I cannot commit to this full time anymore. As some of you know, the last few years have seen me go from tendon surgery, to foot surgery, to constant rehab on my shoulder trying to avoid surgery. It's time. Torn rotator cuff, herniated bicep, I just have to stop and get back to some sort of health.

The company is left in good hands, Tom and Larry from Pegasus are taking over the majority share. I'll have a fraction, no big deal. But as most all of you know they've been in this industry for a long time. They know what they're doing, and I'll be here to make sure it all goes smooth. Moebius will not be part of Pegasus, it will stand alone as it has.

Not sure what else to say besides look for announcements soon on new product. In this transition time, I hope that you will let us work on new projects instead of having to answer meaningless questions. No real changes as I said earlier! The office will not be taking or returning calls on this subject, nor will they respond to emails. Bob and Dave are staying, but they have no details either. There really are no details as nothing changes other than the address. No further news is available!

I have blocked comments here, not sure if it works. If it does let you comment there can be no answers, and anything nasty will of course be taken down and blocked.

I assume Dave is Dave Metzner, don't know who Tom and Larry are, or what Pegasus is...(is it Pegasus Hobbies--- the California hobby shop/aftermarket parts company, or some other firm?).   Interesting...

Not trying to be a know it all Rob, but one of the name's of the owners of Pegasus ( the hobby store in California) is named Tom, so I do think the new owners is Pegasus Hobbies.

Interesting.   It was just funny that the Moebius guy calls out all those names expecting anyone to know who he was referring to..a bit weird.   I've been to Pegasus Hobbies in Ca, bought plenty of their products, but have had no reason to know the names of their owners...

Not sure what to make of this news. I love Moebuis Models. And I've been happy with the few Pegasus kits I've gotten over the years. So I'm hoping this really changes things very little. 

Their sci-fi and figure models complement each other quite well.

It is a bit interesting in deed,  Google is a wonderful and powerful tool ya know, ive never been there, never purchased anything from them, have no need to know there names, but I know how to look stuff up so you dont have too

It's Pegasus hobbies, I met the guys on one of the last Chicago hobby trade shows, but forgot their names.

Been to their store in CA a few times too, good folks they once gave me a freebie, just because I came all the way from Belgium

One of the things I remember is that while at the store the clerks (or how do you say that)  packaged tire sets on their down time, a clever thing I thought at the time, cuz my job at GM back then was to eliminate downtime, thus making sure the assembly workers were productive.

In case some do not know....Pegasus manufactures a large number of kits themselves. The vast majority as nice as Moebius' stuff.

From what I've seen,  they've made an effort to release kits that are simple and affordable.  It should be interesting.

Count me as one who didn't know that. Any examples of what they produce been built and shown here? Interesting that they have the wherewithal to buy into Moebius, never thought that Pegasus was a very big company.

Should be interesting to see how the future shapes up for Moebius under this new ownership and what happens with Revell- do they remain a part of Hobbico or do they get sold again?

Most of us know the wheels, tires and low rider items. Most other stuff is Sci-Fi and military.

I've also been to the Pegasus store at Moreno St up in Montclair CA, I try to go there every time I'm in the L.A. area and get me some kits and it's a neat place...but their website has a lot to desire.
I hope this deal will be good for the hobby, but I'm a bit concerned as some things they have bought has more or less disappeared from the market, one example is the nice So-Real Concepts developed drag racing wheels, after Pegasus bought them out  they were available for a while but now they are hard to find and I don't like that to happen with Moebius.
