spike morelli Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Any of you guys out there know which kit(s) might have a Halibrand quick change rear end, for early Ford axles, as part of the components? There's got to be a handful, but it's been a while since I've built a kit with one. 1
High octane Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 The Red Baron and the Double Dragster kits are a couple.
Spex84 Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 AMT Double T AMT Double Dragster Tom Daniels Pie Wagon Tom Daniels Paddy Wagon Revell Orange Crate ...there are more, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind!
Mooneyzs Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 If you want to go the 3D printed route TDR Innovationsa has them on Shapeways. Here is the link: https://sites.google.com/site/tdrhtmllearn/home/chassis-shop/tdr-rear-end-department/halibrand-quick-change-rear-with-disk-brakes
Spex84 Posted March 23, 2018 Posted March 23, 2018 Cale, I'm pretty sure the Revell/Monogram '31 sedan doesn't have a quickchange. It does have good early axle housings that will fit on the QC center section from the Orange Crate, Double Dragster, etc.

And in this thread, I go into some detail doing just exactly that, as well as fabbing a new rear crossmember for Revell's '32 frames that will let you hang a buggy-sprung rear end.
Richard Bartrop Posted March 24, 2018 Posted March 24, 2018 The Mickey Thompson Challenger kit has 4 quick changes, and the Tony Nancy 22Jr set has a couple of very nice quick changes.
spike morelli Posted March 30, 2018 Author Posted March 30, 2018 Thanks all of you who responded. It would appear that most of the suggestions are of older kits. Hopefully, I'll rustle up a few. My project just won't allow anything other than a quick change. Looking forward to finally starting it and posting my progress.
Rocking Rodney Rat Posted April 1, 2018 Posted April 1, 2018 Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland has a very nicely done (all of Norm's offerings are top notch) QC in resin.... -RRR
Casey Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 The custom version of the 1/16 Minicraft Model A Pickup has a nicely detailed quick change rearend, as does the 1/16 Pyro/Lindberg T-Bucket (Bullhorn T, etc.): 1
Mr. Metallic Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 @Spex84 recently started offering one in his Shapeway store for anyone that's looking for one. He even designed a crossmember to go with it that is designed to drop into the new Revell Model A coupe or roadster kits
