Hey Guys

This is one I built for the swap & build CBP. The kit I received was an SSR and since I always dislike the finders on that truck I decide to change them a little. Also use a corvette front bumper on it. Let me know what you think gods or bad.

The front Corvette bumper looks like that's the way it should have been. The only thing I noticed on the rear fenders was the oversized tail lights. My personal taste would be a different hood scoop or none at all. With that great looking paint job and being a darker shade I would have something other than the black wheels. I know that's the style right now, but it brings down what otherwise is a great looking build. You asked for the good and the bad, there isn't any ugly here for sure.

Hey Guys

Thanks for the comments!

Snake the color is Testor one coat orange, with no clear.

Espo thanks for your input, yes I said good or bad and meant it. As for the fenders I know you said all you noticed was the big tail lights (which are from a 69 Camaro) but if you look a pics of the real truck you will notice the fenders have been shortened and given a different angle, both front and rear. Also the grill bar was shortened so it does not go across the headlights. I tried to keep my change subtle so you question rather it was that way or not.

Nice looking SSR. One question, though - how did you get the interior in? It's been a while since I looked at mine, but I seem to remember that if the rocker panels were attached before the interior was placed, there wouldn't be enough room to get the interior in. Your rocker panels do seem to have some custom work, and I imagine that was part of the trick.

Thanks. I assume that's the Fiery Orange not the Flaming Orange? Also, nice job with the '69 Camaro taillights. I didn't even recognize them!

Hey Jim

You are right the rocket panel are a separate piece and I did mold mine in. The interior and chassis are a bit tricky to get in once you do this, but with a bit of playing around you can get them in there.

Snake I believe it is the fiery, but I’ve looked at the can and all I can tell from it is the lid is orange.

Again thanks for the comments.

Going back over the pictures I see what you mean about the grill and headlights. The change is subtle enough that I didn't even notice, I like this look better. I also see what you mean about the fenders being reshaped and that also looks better. Overall the body is very smooth and flows well. Sometimes the littlest changes can have the biggest effect.

Thanks, that's good to know. The rocker panels were the largest part of the reason my SSR project stalled. I'll have to dig it out and get it going again.

Weird. The response I thought I posted 5 hours ago never showed up. Let's try again....
