After a couple short deployments , I bellied back up to the workbench. This started out as the Gotham PD car and I was not pleased with the build. Bad fits and lack of some details. I decided to put the A318 pursuit “Chrysler clean burn system” engine with the spark control system attached to the air cleaner. Swapped out the grill and headlights for a correct Plymouth one, added bumperettes and painted with Regatta metallic blue. Fabricated the light bar and put correct wheels and dog dish rims from Fireball model works. The first pick is what I was going for.

Same car from Beverly Hills Cop,from the car/cigarette truck chase.

I almost did it in that version, but wanted to do something based off of an actual scout car. Maybe if I pick up another one, I’ll do it in that scheme. Thanks brother

Your replica is stunning i like police cars, these old Dodges and Plymouths were very popular back in the days!!

These details are just looking perfect.

Nice work!

Thanks for love gang. I like how it turned out but this kit left a lot to be desired.

You did a fantastic job with that kit !  It's definitely long in the tooth ; its chassis dates-back to at least 1971 !  The four door was bourne-out of the 1978 Force 440 kit , whose lineage dates to the 1975-1976 Gran Fury / Road Runner . Its tooling was changed in c.1981 where it became Roscoe's Patrol Car ; the sedan body was created / updated , as the rear fascia is markedly different between the 2 door hardtop and the 4 door sedan .

My biggest complaints about the 1977-1978 Monaco Police Car are :

- Those too-deep wheels / ridiculously-wide tyres ;

- No underhood details ;

- Manual transmission / big block combo (which disappeared after 1972 [440] and 1974 [400])

In spite of its faults , it's the only game in town . It builds well with some tweaks .
