I have stuck a needle down inside the nozzle and I hit a blockage or  something?? I cannot seem to puncture it so It is not a foil seal... yet when I squeeze the bottle nothing wants to come out. After shaking it and poking at it, I can get a very little bit to come out. Is this thing defective or is there something that I just don't get?

Edit: I have removed the cap, and the rest is a one piece molded bottle that I can see. I would drill a hole clean into the reservoir, but I don't want to enlarge the hole and all my small drill bits are not long enough.

Believe it or don't,  you can easily pull the applicator tube out of the container. Do that, then use a needle or a drill bit to clear any obstruction. When you're finished, reinsert the applicator tube back into the container and you'll be good to go.

Just heat the metal "nozzle" tube whilst holding it horizontal or pointing slightly upward, using the gas flame on your cooker or a cigarette lighter: it'll glow red hot, and you'll get a nice little flame at the top as the glue that's set inside it melts and burns off. I do it all the time with the "hypo" applicators on Humbrol and Revell plastic cement bottles. Just don't squeeze the bottle while you're doing it, or hold it upside down...

Sorry, this is a better pic. The nozzle is plastic and although it is separate from the body, it will not screw off. I have given it a fairly decent twist with pliers, and it did not budge. I was thinking of heating a pin red hot and melting a hole, but I do not want to have it burst into a ball of flames in my hands!:o

YOW! I was referring to this particular version which I have and has the removable applicator tube:

I've never bought one with the plastic applicator.

I also have the one with the stainless steel hypodermic tubing applicator - I bought it about 30 years ago. I think Testors changed the design and now they use a plastic nozzle.

There is no seal inside - if no glue comes out when squeezed, it is clogged.  I would try using either piece of stiff wire (like K&S 0.020" brass rod) or a small drill but to try to unclog it.

Peter, there's a toy store in Greenpoint that still sells them. That's where I get mine. If the bottle you have runs out, transfer the cement from the new into the old.

Use MEK and apply it with a paint brush. Transfer from the quart can to a small glass bottle.

Good idea - thanks Joe!  But at the rate I use it, I'll have some left at the time I die. I'm a CA glue addict.

That is basically what the Testors Liquid Cement is (in the glass bottles).

The stuff discussed here is a bit thicker - it has some body to it, and it doesn't evaporate as fast. It is like Testors Mixed their Liquid Cement from the glass bottles with some of their old-fashion tube cement.
