Daddyfink Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I know this will probably get moved, but, he was involved with Model Cars and once co owned Prestige Hobbies in Buena Park Rest easy, Goose
Mr mopar Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 So sad RIP Mongoose he was the under dog when he came up against the Snake ,But won his fair share of drags .
Phildaupho Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 A very fitting and impressive model car tribute to the legendary The Mongoose
iamsuperdan Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Holy cow. Is there anyone who has had more kits made of their cars than him?
Snake45 Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Hey, we're getting to the age where the heros of our youth are going to be moving on. Nothing you can do about it. Thanks for all the good memories, Mongoose.
Rick Wolfe Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 and from what I understand he to enjoyed building models.
RancheroSteve Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Don't forget the '65 Barracuda, which is pretty accurately represented (for the most part) by the Hemi Under Glass kit: http://www.hotrod.com/articles/1965-plymouth-barracuda-funny-car/
smhardesty Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Sad to hear. His name will forever be remembered along with Garlits, Prudhomme, Sox &Martin, Jenkins, and the other kings of drag racing. The battles of "The Snake" & "The Mongoose" were quite memorable. RIP.
Bainford Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Very sad to hear. His rivalry with Prudhomme in the 70s was fuel for the imagination. I loved that stuff as a kid. Thanks for the memories, Tom. R.I.P.
cobramike Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 One of the greatest drag racers of all time! RIP!
