This started out as a built-up AMT/Ertl snap kit that was missing the tailgate and had worn chrome. The missing tailgate was replaced with a scratch built one, and a scratch built headache rack and mirrors were also added. The receiver hitch and fifth wheel hitch came from Scenes Unlimited, and the Federal Signal Aerodynic light bar is an old Chimneyville resin piece. After stripping the chrome, I noticed the plastic was almost the exact same color as the plastic Dodge used for the 1:1 grilles, so the foil was torn and curled to represent the peeling chrome these second-gen Ram grilles were notorious for.

This one looks like it's had a hard life... Nice job on the weathering... does it happen to have Pa. plates on it? Lol!

Mighty fine looking Ram, the weathering is exceptional.  My only suggestion would be, most of the 1-ton Rams, Chevy's, or F-350's in that condition have at least one or both of those fiberglass rear fenders ripped to shreds JK .  Very nice work.  I do have one serious question, where did yo get the 5th wheel?

I agree those fender extensions take a beating. But, I really enjoy the stuff you build. This is yet another fine example of realism. The common stuff in the real world is rarely seen in the model world. Awesome.

Fifth wheel came from Scenes Unlimited. I did think about doing the broken flares, but then the quarters would be visible and I didn't feel like using ones from a regular bed or making my own. Maybe next time. :)

I figured after a few shiny builds you would be back to the rust and weathered look Chuck! Nice job, surprised you didn't yellow the headlights a bit more and beat the bed up some more.

It look very good. Like the rust and used look. The only thing I don't like is the matt windshield. It would be better to have the whipers doing there scratches e.g. on the windshield. Here it looks like the truck went into a sand storm :o

Nice tried looking work truck. I like your home made tail gate.
