Harry P. Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Hey now!!! That is VERY cool! Your attention to the details in the drawijng is fantastic. That's going to be a great piece when it's done.
Eshaver Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Neal , thats some outstanding detail there man! If I didn't know better I would say that the building looks identical to a store , I guess i'ts still there in Franklin West Virginia on U S 33 just across the West Virginia , Virginia border. You know that theres a show in Winston Salem N C try Carolinia Kustom Modlers. The show is August 16th , be there I would love to see it there!!!!!!!!!! Ed Shaver
Mike Whatshisname Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Awesome job so far Neal! I love the colors of the cars. Can't wait to see this with some ground cover. Are you going to do it with the tall grass? What will you use for it if you do? Thirsty for more eye candy!
bob29579 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 That is really neat. I'm also wondering if and how you'll do the tall grass. Great so far. Greg.
george 53 Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 That IS cool! I've always wondered why no one ever tried it before. Those are some of my favorite "Auto Scenes" type paintings. I do like the ones that feature the later 60's musclecars, but yours is JUST TOO COOL.Like the picture come to life!!!GREAT JOB!!!
outlaw035 Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 hi ev1 thanks for the great coments....was working on some of the ground cover tonite hope to have it done by next week some time....yes mike i am doing the tall grass and im using a wood workers brush to make most of them also i have some i bought from a train store a while ago....
outlaw035 Posted August 1, 2008 Author Posted August 1, 2008 made some headway 2day...ground cover is down...rail fence is built and installed...telephone pole is also finished but not installed...made a bench for the porch....still have the tedious job of the weeds and tall grasses around the cars...wife added a bunch of rocks and moss to the landscaping with looks really good i think...the 2 large trees need some work to make them look more realistic...was thinking about posting a pic of 2days progress but not sure ...maybe 2 morrow...
Mike Whatshisname Posted August 3, 2008 Posted August 3, 2008 YO Neal!!!!! 2morrow has come and gone! Where are those pictures!!!!! I need some eye-candy!!!!

Guest Gramps-xrds Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Neal that looks great. You did a real nice job on everything I saw. The building in the back just sets everything off. All the cars look right in place there.
sdrodder Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Yes you realy did a great job. Just reminded me of somthin. When i go with my parents up to l.a. we drive a certain way out of our town. Couple miles up a certain road there is a house on the left side and in his front yard he has bout 4 to 5 20 to 30 fords including a 2 door sedan and an old c cab ford. I know of topic but this diorama just reminded me of that house. Great job.
62SS Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Fantastic job. Detail work is awesome. The weathering looks perfect. Very impressive!!! I love this dio. Thanks for sharing it with us. Ed
Raul_Perez Posted August 13, 2008 Posted August 13, 2008 Neal, my man, forget about how well you recreated the picture in 3D, that is one excellent diorama!! Keep up the GREAT work!! Later,
RadRidesByDan Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 ###### Neal, this has to be one of the best dio i have seen in a long time. Ive always liked on how the old days used to look like with thier cars up front and man that looks sharp my hats of to you Bro..... Excellent work Bear
Mike Whatshisname Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 WOW Neal! Between a computer crash and then going on vacation, looks like I missed you finishing this one! Pure eye candy! I really like the depth you brought to the ground covering by using different colors of the dark, medium and light foliages by Woodland Scenics I assume? A "Neals' Restoration" sign, nicely weathered, would look nice on that building...maybe? The cars look awesome! I love the wooden slats showing on the second ford! Congratulations, Great job!!!!!!!
outlaw035 Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 thanks mike....never wanted the neal restoration sign on the picture in the 1st place so thats why i didnt include it in the diorama....neal
Mike Posted September 18, 2008 Posted September 18, 2008 (edited) Super! You've brought art to life. Where's the sign for above the door? Edited September 18, 2008 by Mike
