Jordan White
Hey, I have the Italeri "U.S. Wrecker Truck" that I plan on rebuilding eventually, and would like to see how other people have built any big rig wreckers to get some ideas for my build! DRIPTROIT 71
I built this one over 15 years ago. The mirror was off in the picture and I left it off because I was about to ship this one. 100_0805 by Brian Smith, on Flickr 100_0804 by Brian Smith, on Flickr

truckabilly
Peterbilt 378 of Italeri, scale 1/24, converted to a 379 according to the Tim Ahlborn recipe, plus resin high roof. Scratch built headache rack, rear fenders and the D.T.U. (detachable towing unit).

Is there a build thread on this and do you have dimensions?
truckabilly
I don´t want to hijack the thread but I don´t want to keep anything as a secret either. This is the link to the original build thread: And this is where I took some info from: http://www.jige-international.com/recovery-vehicles,underlifts,bras-us,holmes-dtu,1,56,32.html My D.T.U is not to scale, the dimensions are just eyeballed. When building the model I have been watching a lot of internet pictures.

It is not currently in production, but scan eBay and I am sure someone is selling one. The trouble is that it is probably $200 or more. If you are patient, it could be re-issued once Revell of Germany gets it's US distribution figured out as I think they sell out quickly every time they release them.
