Silver Foxx Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 A friend gave me this old Revell kit ( not a nice kit at all but it was free ) , cut up some plastic spoons to make the fender flares , wheels from the spares box , Tamiya paint .
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 That is the best job I've ever seen done with this kit. Very very nice.

Bainford Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Yup, I agree as well. The best I've ever seen this old Revell kit built up. I love the spoon idea for the flares. All round an outstanding build. Very well done.
Maindrian Pace Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Very nice job on a kit not known to play nice, and the spoon flare idea is quite inventive.
'70 Grande Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Great looking build! I'd bet that I'm not the only forum member who's interested in finding out some more about your plastic spoon/fender flares trick. Do you have any pics that show that process or any insight about how you did those spoon-flares?
Hooked on Chaparral Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 What a great job with this kit. Beautiful finish.
Brianl Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Totally awesome mate. This the only build of this kit that I have seen that looks real. Once again its colour & stance. Love the guards & wheel combo. I knew you had it in you. Keep up the good work (or bashing). The "How To" on the spoon guards is a good idea. Brian

I am no super modeller so my method is pretty simple , I used new small measuring spoons from a lawncare product . The spoons are cut in half , shaped to fit the side of the body and glued on , I then use my Dremel to cut the spoon back to the opening that I want . Then I fill and sand to blend the spoon to the body . You can use bigger spoons for larger fender openings . Hope this helps . Thanks for the nice comments guys .
aurfalien Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Hi, This is pretty darn awesome. And I agree, this kit is for sh$t but you made it look fantastic. Proof that one can indeed polish a turd.
Funkychiken Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Turned out really nice, you did a great job on those flares...
PatW Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Super 356! I was just going to ask about how you did the arches and you beat me to it! I have other plastic spoons that I may use but they aren't quite that shape!
