With the Mopar Nationals coming up in a week, I figured I should finish up my 74 Charger project to take to the model contest. This is the MPC Super Charger kit that I kitbashed with a AMT 71 Charger for the engine and chassis.

The body is painted with MCW Sky Blue (code B1) with a Urethane clear coat. The decals are from Keith Marks.

 WoW James, Ive SEEN that car in real life! An old neighbors daughter owned one, right down to the stripes and interior color!I think a 400 was the biggest engine you could get in 74. Never thought it was much, since it wasn't an R/T or such, But it was a nice lookin car. Yours is too!, Really good build!!! :)

The 440 cu. in. Hi-Performance engine (by 1974 standards, as it was literally "smogged" to death by the government mandates) was available in 1974 on the Charger S.E. Hardtop. It was also available on the Charger Coupe and Hardtop, but required the optional (at extra cost) "Rallye Package", which this beautiful build has. James, you obviously did your research on this build before starting it. The correct MCW paint color combined with the excellent Keith Marks decals and the 71 kit have truly made a standout presentation! Having been with Chrysler Corporation during the period when these cars were popular, there were many Charger painted in this color scheme....although not too many were ordered with the Rallye option (in any color.) Congratulations! :D Fury3 Edited by fury3

Beautiful job on your charger, one of my favorite build styles....right off the showroom floor. I used to ride to high school every day with a friend in his 73 Charger SE, built 360, the slapstick shifter was very cool, red with a white landau(?) top, houndstooth(?) interior with a factory slide back moon roof, air shocks and he musta had 10 inch wide Cragars on the back. That was a cool car. Guess you sparked a memory, thanks.

All I can say is WOW! That is one beautiful build James! I had a friend that had a '73 SE, vinyl roof with those louvered rear quarter windows, I like this style better, still has the look of the '68-'70 Chargers.

That is an excellent build of that kit. I love it. I always thought the tail lights on those kits were a weak point, but you did a great job with it. Love the rallye package. You should do well at the Nats. So I take it you are coming down? Maybe I'll see you in Newark. Will you be driving the RR?

Wow...I have seen a car like that in real life...a buddy in high school in the mid '80s had one, a '73 or '74, same color, 360 IIRC, white interior, Cragars. It was a bit rusty and paint faded from the S. Florida sun. Saw him at the 20th reunion last month, he has a couple Dodge diesel trucks and a wild '75 Dart Sport w/ a 440 now.

Sorry to bring up an old post. But, what paint color was used to do the interior. I had a 73 back in the late 80's-early 90's that I'm trying to replicate that was sky blue with the blue interior.

Thanks...
