Been building this for a few days now.
I did not want to use the mudflaps that is included in the kit because i simply did not like them also the rear mudflaps would not fit without touching the rearwheels....
Also found out that i dont like 2 part tires as they were a real pain to get to hold toghether.
Will update with pics of the engine tomorrow as its to dark now to get good pictures of a darkblue engine in a black enginebay...
The decal on the hood is from Italeri,s Peterbilt 377A/E

Great Job! One of my favorite kits.

My build of this kit is done without the rear mudflaps for the same reason. I never thought to check their fit in any of the many mockups I did before final assembly. I know what to do to fix it but I just haven't gotten around to doing it yet.

Thanks.
Yeah i missed to check that part to but i can live with it.
Afterall it is a dumptruck, the mudguards on them dont last long in real so they have been "ripped off" when someone asks me about it
Edited in 2 pics of the engine in it.

Nice job.  I had built up one of those 30+ years ago, wish I still had it.  I recall the mudflaps swung forward touching the tires near the bottom of the flap.  I recall putting a pair of small supports off the frame to keep them from rotating.  To this day, I still don't understand why they chose the military style NDTs for the rear tires. I can't think of any civilian truck that ran them, they are marginal on dry pavement and just plain horrid on wet pavement.  Best on dry dirt roads but still not as good as many other choices available at the time.  They also seem  a little small.
