I bought a $200 testor's/Sparmax 88 spray booth but after seeing David Thibodeau's spray booth, I wish I would have built one like his below.  Because I don't need it now I never tried to figure out what he was using for a fan but if you do please share.  His is so powerful it sucks the fumes out right away and he said he didn't even need a mask but wears one anyway.

I talked to Dave Thibodeau when I built my spray booth and use the same fan as he does. The fan is amazing and sucks out any and all paint fumes and over-spray.  It is a 6" Hydroponics High CFM Air Blower. One addition I made was to get the optional Activated Carbon Filter. The is not near a window, so I vent directly into the filter, the is no fumes or smell in the room even after painting 2k clear.

Nice Mike.. thanks for the link.  Are you saying one could actually use this inside the house without worry of fumes?

If you have a suitable window to vent it outside, certainly do. But in my case there wasn't one, so yes, I use it inside without fumes. I get more fumes in the house from the lacquer thinner soaked towel to clean my airbrush.

check out artograph booths as well. I've had mine for 3-4 years, and love it, I got a 4130, it's huge, can fit rig trailer sides in it. highly recommend it.

I bought a Pace 24inch Super Mini a few years back, and as far as I'm concerned it's the best purchase I've made. I used to have a bathroom fan set in a large bedroom cabinet. My housemate always complained that he could smell everything from upstairs. After I got my Pace he couldn't smell anything. he though I stopped building for the longest time. It'll suck every fume and every bit of dust floating around out of that room. Best $300 ( price has gone up since my purchase) I've ever spent.

Evil Appetite, does it do well even with spray cans or, are you using an airbrush?

Works just as well with spray cans. Acrylic, Enamel, Lacquer. No one outside the room you're painting in will smell anything
