Mahogany Rush Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Finally finished up this beast. What I thought would be an easy build, it was nothing of the sort. Operator error of course. The model is very nice, but I figured out afterwards that perhaps painting would work better after body is assembled. The windows had to be filed down, the doors would not hang and the top, OMG, it took me literally 5 tries to get it to fit on correctly. Many things need to line up at the very end and superglue became my only answer as lots of tension were on the parts, so Tamiya cement would not suffice. Anyhow, the color is Testors Fiery Orange Lacquer with Rustoleum Gloss White. Wasn't the color I thought it would be, but I do like it. No gloss coat, just one spray of Meguires Finishing Wax. Put some felt in for carpet and tinted the windows with Tamiya Smoke spray. Did all BMF instead of the decals or chrome pen. Used the wrong glue for the headlights and they fogged up. Thanx for looking!
shoopdog Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Turned out great, I love it. Sure had a lot of windows to glue and trim.
bbowser Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 I like it, that color really suits it. I built one of these, don't beat yourself up - it is not an easy kit to get together!
DumpyDan Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Well done, I have been working on one also. It has been on and off for over a year now, yours looks amazing.
Phildaupho Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Very nicely done. Split windows are a favorite of mine as I once had a 65
ewetwo Posted September 22, 2018 Posted September 22, 2018 Amazing. That's all I can think of to say.
Bucky Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Very cool bus!! I like the color combo, too!
minkos Posted September 23, 2018 Posted September 23, 2018 Really nice work! I have the flower power bus kit that i will build one of these days. It looks complicated....
89AKurt Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Revell, I understand your frustration, but you whipped it into shape, and FINISHED! I have a WIP in a coma, the Hasegawa kit, *had to* cut open the doors. This kit come with a complete engine?
89AKurt Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 I feel your pain! Important thing, you finished it! I started a Hasegawa Bus last century, but I went overboard and got overwhelmed. So feel good about doing as well considering the kit. Next project will be better.

Oldcarfan27 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Difficult kit to find, as well as build. I've been looking for one of those kits for a while. When I do see one, it's too expensive. You did a good job. It looks great!
tbill Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 That looks great, makes we want to build one . Colors are perfect for that .
