Koellefornia Kid Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Hi guys, here is another one from my Famous Rods And Customs collection: „The Iron Fist“, built by Blue Collar Customs for Metallica´s lead singer James Hetfield. Here ist he original: And my scale model version: I used AMT´s ´36 Ford 5W kit and a chopped Flintstone resin body. The model features: custom grille with MCG pe-insert, smoothed running boards, smoothed hood, ´34 Ford side louvers, resin bullet head lights and wheels from thepartsbox (Australia), lowered suspension, scratch built taillights and license plate with MCG frame, scratch built carburator intakes and wired engine. Paint is Zero Paints Titanium Silver. Hope you like it, thanks for watching! Greetings from Cologne
echo Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Nice build, especially like the wheels, if they aren't right it can spoil the whole look. You nailed it.
Dennis Lacy Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 That's a great looking '36 5-Window! You got all of the custom features right, too. Not every car looks good with E&J headlights but this one definitely does. Is the engine the kits optional 389 Pontiac or... ?
olschoolkid Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 Very nice. That is a great looking 36. I have to admit that whether you like Metallica or not, I personally believe James Hetfield has some pretty sweet rides.
Yahshu Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 That's cool, I seen Metallica just after Cliff died, was a good band back in the day before they went commercial.

I think there´s is Chevy in the original but I didn´t have one at hands when I built it in 2014. 8 hours ago, olschoolkid said: I personally believe James Hetfield has some pretty sweet rides. That´s right! I want to build some more of his cars in times to come... 5 hours ago, Yahshu said: That's cool, I seen Metallica just after Cliff died, was a good band back in the day before they went commercial. Commercial or not, I think they make great music! I seen them at Rock am Ring Festival in 2006. They performed the complete Master Of Puppets album for its 20th anniversary. At least 2 hours on stage, that was a great gig!
alan barton Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) You did a great job of capturing the essence of the original car with your model, Oliver. You're a braver man than me scribing that new curved trunk outline! Kudos for a job well done. Cheers Alan Edited October 14, 2018 by alan barton

espo Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 I really like the look of this. The custom grill and lights look right. Something about this era Fords with the Artillery Wheels just looks like that is way the should be.
Chuck Most Posted October 16, 2018 Posted October 16, 2018 For me, Lars' bone-stock Land Rover would be a challenging enough build. You nailed this one.
