665@213 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 Hello everyone. I was thinking about replicating a spray in bed liner in an 89 F150 I'm building. It's far from box stock, as its bed floor has been raised. I was wondering what you guys could think of that I could use. I want the inside of the bed to be matched to the body color. Any ideas would be great!
porschercr Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 (edited) Textured spray paint, (white if they have it, Home Depot, Wal-mart etc.) Then top coat it with the body color. Edited October 14, 2018 by porschercr
64SS350 Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 I used some vinyl top spray, from I believe testors, it has a texture to it
misterNNL Posted October 14, 2018 Posted October 14, 2018 I recommend Rustoleum textured spray can # 239119. I just used it successfully on a scratch built '30's travel trailer roof. I used a flat black top coat then buffed it lightly to a satin finish. It's available at Wal-Mart.
89AKurt Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 I only used Testors gloss black, with the minimum of thinner, and lowest of air pressure. I tried to do the worst orange peel ever. Since you wanted to match the paint color, seems like the best bet, and save your money for something else. Be sure to fill the corners of your bed before doing any painting!
RichCostello Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Krylon also does a good textured spray paint, the coarse works for carpet too.
