Bill Eh?
I'll probably get two of this kit, along with the Revell full detail 2016 LeMans car.
martinfan5
I did not see this one coming, but still very cool, and makes me happy I didnt get the toy version that Revell did, so it will be nice to have the street version to go with the race version. Yeah, Jonathan, like you're gonna just build one. I'm gonna be building the full Skittles bag on these.
lysleder
Woohoo! And it is molded in three colors, so there is no real need to paint it. Just like an old Matchbox kit ...and what about the tires?

W-409
I was hoping to see somekind of cool old European or Japanese car that would have been a must have... But that ugly new Ford GT does nothing for me, unfortunately.

C'mon Chuck, how about a rant over it being 1/24th and not 1/25th scale and not a $5 gold box Walmart special...
dbostream
Will probably buy it at some point but there are plenty of other cars I would have preferred. Impossible to please everyone though.
Bennyg
Surely the Ford GT is a better choice than an obscure NSU for example? I’m very pleased by this, and hope that Tamiya does the new Supra. I better clear my bench. Ben

unclescott58
The new Ford GT is something I didn't see coming from Tamiya. With Tamiya's quality, I'll be looking at adding one to my collection. I'm sure it will be a great kit.
DiscoRover007
BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH. I'm sure this will be an excellent example. Anyone else feel like Tamiya went for the jugular on Revell?
MrObsessive
I wouldn't have minded that NSU frankly, but I'll definitely be looking at this Ford GT. I love that shade of blue on that car and the one I'd do absolutely MUST have dual white stripes going over the top.
bytownshaker
Will definately be getting both the Revell (Race) and Tamiya Ford GT's. Ford announced this week that the demand for the GT is so great they will produce an additional 350 cars.

I couldn't tell for sure from the test shot parts runner images of the engine/powertrain parts, but I am hopeful. Really looking forward to this a lot. If it is successful (which I am sure it will be), maybe they would consider tooling a current generation Mustang GT. No longer just a domestic market product, the 1/1 has been the best selling sports car in the world for the last three years. Separate, fully detailed engine a must, of course. On the other hand, I shouldn't get carried away on new kit speculation, right?. TIM
MrObsessive
Tim, I just tried to take a good look at the photo and from what I can tell, I see what may be just the top end of the engine. This is one of those cars that has a lower belly pan, and you wouldn't really see the bottom end. Still, this is miles ahead of Revell's Ford GT and I'd certainly wouldn't mind having this one over Revell's.

But I'd love for them to make a 2013 version. I also would be grateful if they made a 1/24 viper.
