aurfalien Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 (edited) Hi, I've been at this project for far to long. Striped everything at least 4 times and in the process scarred the plastic. I was able to cover up my crimes via many thin layers of filler/primer and sanding. And I'm totally unsure when it will be finished as I was in Malibu and I no longer have my things. I did grab this kit and a few other items but forgot my first memorial build from last year. At least I have pictures. At any rate, here are some in progress pics of what was once the property of CrazyEd, my dearly departed friend. It will look better once assembled but I was compelled to post something. Unsure if you can make out the fuel lines or ignition stuff, or even the tiny rivets that I did individually. The transmission is from Shapeways which required a lot of smoothening out and the engine is from an AMT parts pack. I used pleather for the seat inlay. I am very very happy with the paint, even though it's plain old Tamiya Bright White, it looks very very smooth and proper. Thank you Donn Yost for putting out your videos. Sorry ED, it will eventually get done. Edited November 14, 2018 by aurfalien
Hooked on Chaparral Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Wow! How did I miss this ? This is looking so fine. I HAVE got to follow this.
Dann Tier Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 I am so sorry about what happened, and I am glad to see you are back at building!! If theres anything I can help with, just let me know! I KNOW Ed would be proud of this build!! I think its looking OUTSTANDING!!, and i'm also glad you DIDNT use the black panel liner on this......it would totally ruin the realism, the gray is more realistic!!….Well Done!!!, look forward to following this!!
Ich_Will Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Looks super! Will be following this one as well.
