Love the choice of wheels and tyres. Funny how these AMT tyres seem to fit other brands' wheels better than their own. The wires from the 62 T-Bird are a perfect fit - but the kit has those slightly odd-looking 2-piece tyres that don't look nearly as good. Again, a beautifully built classic! I agree. I was surprised to see how much better the wire wheels from the Moebius '55/'56 Chrysler kits looked with some nice tires wrapped around them. The tires from the kits make the wheels look entirely to small. They look great with the AMT Firestone Deluxe tires. Steve
High octane Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 That Imperial is drop-dead-gorgeous Steve, as I just love dem Mopars!
W-409 Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 That turned out very nice, but that's what we expect from you. As always, your paint work and detailing is done very nicely, but what stands out is the flawless BMF work. I hope some day I'm able to do that clean chrome trim with BMF, too.
StevenGuthmiller Posted December 6, 2018 Author Posted December 6, 2018 They always seem to look better in natural light. But, baby it's cold outside!! Steve
thatz4u Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Steve, excellent as usual, nice finish. You sure this isn't a real car that you cut & pasted?.....
MrObsessive Posted December 7, 2018 Posted December 7, 2018 Looks absolutely excellent Steve! Beautiful paint and I like the tint band on your windshield.........that's something I can never get to turn out right.

Beautiful paint and I like the tint band on your windshield.........that's something I can never get to turn out right. Of all of the parts of this build, the glass was the biggest problem. The windshield, especially, was full of pits! I polished out what I could, but they seemed to go all of the way through the glass. The tint band across the top was not a problem, but I did mix up a very light tint for the entire glass from clear & transparent green acrylic paint. I wanted to try to replicate the light green tint evident in most of these older cars. Well, it didn't work as well as I had hoped. Especially being as the glass was so pitted in the first place.
