I currently live in a tiny town with no real hobby shops nearby, so I'm looking for a one-stop online business that carries all the usual model building supplies, including such things as sheet and strip styrene plastic, and a wide range of paints.  Also, it wouldn't hurt if their prices were somewhere between low and very reasonable.

TIA for all helpful responses.

I can relate to your pain Monty! You're probably going to find that these days most brick and mortar shops, no matter how big or small, don't concern themselves with any aftermarket parts. The solution no doubt are on-line guys, and there are several! I get most of my stuff from BNA models, Mega Hobby, RB Motion,  Future Attraction and Ted's model marketplace- but those are just a few of 'em out there. Kinda depending on what you're after will narrow down your search. I've found that for the builds I've been getting into lately, BNA is my best stop because they focus more on exotics, F1,  imports, etc. Now that this 3D printing is actually panning out, some of this stuff being made is borderline perfect, so any more, finding parts isn't much of a challenge. Also keep in mind that a lot of these guys are making full detail "sets" for certain kits, so that alone might be an answer.

I think if you poke around there's a post thread on here somewhere that lists (many) aftermarket parts guys, if not then perhaps we should make one. My advice is to peek at some of these I've mentioned and just look around. You'll be pleasantly surprised with what you'll find!

A few others off the top of my head- Shapeways, Dirt Modeler, Arrowhead

Hope this helps~**~

You can find a surprising amount of supplies on amazon, many with Prime shipping. Prices are all over the place, but there are some good deals to be found. It's also worth looking at mail-order houses that specialize in Gundam models, especially for Japanese brand paints and tools.

I've ordered a few items from Amazon myself. I get my Stynylrez primer there and flow aid. I bought a second airbrush there in the past ( Paasche H). I bought new medium and heavy heads and needles there for my Badger 200. I recently bought an AMT 49 Ford Gasman kit there. Many things are on prime or otherwise free shipping if you keep your eyes open.  We have a somewhat local Hobby store about 12 miles away, the problem is he thinks his stuff is gold lined, that Gasman kit for instance was $11 more there than from Amazon, plus gas to go drive there and back. The kit was delivered to my door step in 3 days through Amazon.

When ever I'm shopping, whether it be models or what ever I find it worth looking at Amazon first and very often it's as far as I have to go.

I use HobbyLinc unless I can find it on Amazon. I do eBay for parts and stuff if I can find a deal from a reputable source. For "really" hard to find stuff I use Spotlight and Model Roundup, but they are on the pricier end.
